Ok, I've been dying to use my PC 7336 and got my change when UPS delivered my backing pad and foam applicator. I got the yellow, white and gray foam form CMA.

I have a black 4runner and the hood and a lot of water spot pits and swirl marks. I had Z (3 coats) my truck 3 weeks ago not knowing I was going to get the PC so soon.

Last night I washed, dried and took the white foam pad that came with the PC and applied Meg DC step 1. Wanting to remove the water spots & swirls, I started with yellow pad & meg #9. Tried multiple time without much luck. This moring I bought some 3M FII RC. Used it with the yellow pad and it reomoved 90% of water stains and swirls BUT I can still see a lot of tiny pits (not white). What do u guys think this is?? Do u guys think the meg DC and MEG #9 was enough to remove the Z? and how often can I use the 3M FII? Don't get me wrong , the hood looks 100% better than before, I'm just trying to acheive the Autopian way!

Last question, the 3M FII left a lot of dust, is it ok to use MF with QD to wipe off or should I use the CA duster?

Thanks in adavanced.

The tiny pits sound like acid rain etching, which would make sense seeing as how you had alot of tough water spots on the paint. Depending on the depth you may not be able to remove them. After you finish all of your steps try Imperial hand glaze, it has alot of oils and fillers that may hide them, it doesnt last long though. You can remove the remaining dust w/ QD but if its really bad I suggest you give it a full wash, this will help prevent new swirls.

I hope you have read the warnings on the back of the bottle of the 3M FII - are you using a respirator or mask when you use that stuff? I wouln't want to be breathing that in! :scared

Yes I did use a mask, probably not going to use it again. I think next time I will try the MEG DACP.
