My 18-year-old self vs. black 01 BMW 745Li

Well, was this not the most difficult detail yet. The after pics are quite crappy as the sun was running away, but you get the idea. Here's the story behind the car:

The woman purchased it from Texas about 4 months ago, and she's never washed it or anything. Her and her husband said they don't really ever care about it, and he literally took a bag of golf clubs, and slid them down the hood to get them on the ground in front of the car. The wife told me she knows when to quit pulling up when she hits the white icechest in the garage if that tells you anything. Anyways, there was TONS of swirling, tons of scratches that couldnt' be removed, a bbq stain in the passenger side floor, and tons of stains throughout the car. THe pic of the bbq stain is blury, but you'll know it when you see it. Cost was $150. For the process:

Wash

Clay w/ mothers clay

IP via PC w/ yellow cutting pad @ 6

FPII via PC w/ white polishing pad @ 6

RMG via PC with red finishing pad @ 5

Natty's Blue by hand

Wheels got hit with Simple Green Automotive

Tires got hit with some Westleys Bleach White

Trim got Stoner's trim shine

Tires got Turtle Wax Tire Gel

Interior trim got Stoner's Trim Cleaner, then Stoner's Trim Shine

Glass got Stoner's Invisible Glass

Leather got Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner (not the greatest stuff in the world)

Carpets got Spot Shot (GREATEST stain remover EVER) and the Bissell Little Green Machine'd (great combo)

Can't tell I love Stoner's, can you? Heh. I think that's it, so on to the pics

VERY nice recovery on that vehicle. it's sad to think all of that hard work will be destroyed in less than a week by the owners, but...they i guess it's their vehicle to do as they wish with. hopefully that will keep 'em coming back! hehe

Anyone who would treat a car like that one the way they did doesn't deserve it. You should have told them they could not have it back and to go find an old Chevette !

Any full sun shots?

Sorry, none as the woman had to run to a home closing (she's a real estate agent)

Thanks for the compliments. I told her that she can't dare run it through the scratch-n-swirl and her reply was "wow....that's the only thing i've ever used..." She was awestruck, and gladly said she'd come to me when it needed washing :) Another loyal customer.

Wow amazing improvement.

The interior looks absolutely beautiful.

How do you like the LGCM? Im thinking of buying one but there alittle heavily priced.

:2thumbs: Great work. Both inside and out are quite impressive.

Can you tell us how much time it took you to do that many steps, plus the great interior work?

And how do you like the LGCM (Bissel)?

I hope that the owner tipped you well for your hard work but sometimes they take it for granted the extra work you had to do. But great work. You should get many referrals from this car!

Thanks for the compliments guys! As for a tip....none here :( and I LOVE the Bissell. It's really weird, because it's so little and everything, yet it works AMAZINGLY with that spot shot stuff. I would just spray the mat with the spot shot, extra on the stains, then scrub for maybe, 20 seconds with a smal bristle brush, and extract it via the LGM! I love it!

What brush do you use to scrub w/?

It's a shame to see such a nice car get treated like that. Glad you could make it look the way it should always look. Incredible work on the interior, btw.

awesome, bmw paint are supposed to be a b**** to do. Bissel LGCM is great, i just bought one, like what g3stylz (sp sorry!) said, just get the regular one and put hot water into it. It sucks out most of the dirt and grime.

Did you prescrub the carpet, or did you just go straight water and just sucked it up? Most of the time you would have to soak the carpet first don't you?

Yeah BMW paint (black more so) is a pain. My 540i paint is super hard! But it does clean up nice.

Great job!! Those carpets look good! Where do you buy that stain remover?

For the carpets, I didn't soak them at all, since they weren't that bad minus all the stains, so I spray the stains with Spot Shot (which you can purchase in a 4-pk at Sams for like, $8.00 or something) then i lightly sprayed the whole mat/carpet with the spot shot, and sucked it all up with the LGM. It worked great, as you can tell. I just scrubbed the carpets for about 20-30 seconds with a really small bristle brush, I'm sure any brush would do. Here's the Spot Shot I got:

Oh, and the paint was rediculously hard to work with. I hated it.

Heh, was thinking the same, some people just doesn't deserve the car that they drive. Luckily I have a 15 year old Toyota Corolla that I am willing to exchange for the BMW. You know, just to help create balance in the world... :D

Oh well, nice transformation none the less :bigups

You did a great job.

IMO You should have gotten more for all the work you did.

Sad that you did not get a tip. I'm sure you worked very hard.

The car looks great and you have a repeat customer - :2thumbs:
