My 10+ month long NXT

Back in June of last summer I did 3 layers of NXT wax on my MR2 in 3 days before a National MR2 meet in Topeka, Kansas that I drove to.

Since then, the car has only gotten washes (mostly rinsed down at the local coin-op since I live in an apartment) and a misting of QD I'd 'say every 2nd or 3rd washing, majorily with the standard maroon bottle Meguiars NXT.

From Late Nov until Mid Feb, the car was under a generic cover in my apartment complex, with that being removed and the car started and moved every 2 weeks. Each time I took the cover off, it was like a dust storm under there. The car sits unmoved 4-5 days a week now outdoors in the elements and she still beads like freshly applied NXT each time it rains or I wash her.

Here are my pics from those 3 layers of NXT back in June pics

I don't have any current pics of rain or washes, but I've got to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with NXT's longevity on her.

Looks good Dave...how about some pics of the meet from last August when we saved my counsin's carbon fiber hood?!?!?

lol, hey Mitch.

All my pics are jumbled on my external HD.

I'm currently working on a detailing website for me, and once it's almost done, I'm gonna go thru and re-organize all my pics and upload them ALL to a photo site.

Give me a few more weeks!

Great result David!

Most of us have had poor experiences with the original NXT and haven't given the reformulated NXT a second look. Your experience suggests that we should! :D

Awesome pics, David. I'm glad I switched to NXT.

Thanks guys!

I honestly love this stuff, it's cheap, leaves a great shine, smells good and is a breeze to put on/take off.

I use the liquid stuff myself.

Don't you think the regular QDing has to do with the beading? I think it's likely that the QD is leaving protection and that's where your beading is coming from. I don't think it can be seen whether the NXT is even there anymore.

LOL, Come now David, you need to be taking better care of that MR2. That's too nice of a car to leave to the elements. :rofl

Mine has not seen another coat of NXT in 6 months now but it's basically a garage queen. I was planning on rewaxing this spring but it looks just as good as it did when I originally waxed it so I'll likely just give it a NXT booster treatment.

I do know I got 5 full months of beading with AIO/NXT on a white single stage paint Honda Accord. Still looked really good too.

Side note: I used VM/16 next in mid June 2004. Car has not been waxed since, I think I have washed it 5-6 times (her dad is a regular, she works at his office but rarely gets her car cleaned) and it is just now starting to show some signs of light oxidation, although, oddly enough, the hood still looks really good where you'd think any degredation would be the worst due to engine heat.

I had deep polished it back in October '03 but since then, the polishing was AIO and VM and it has now been nearly 2 years since any polishing or waxing.

Great news. Back in 2004 when it hit the market I tried it, and was not impress. Now the new formula makes me want to look at it again. Thanks...
