You are so right, my wife drove the Escalade for 60 seconds and said, no thanks. Tough to be so spoiled by the Germans.

Thats my 40th birthday present to myself. That and having childern are the last things my "things to do before I die" list. I have 5 years to go, so It might be a 999 by then..but C2S for me for sure, I am old school.

Here ya go:

My new C2S with Aerocup that I spec'd out back in December for a March build. It has: Aerocup Kit, PCCB's, PSE, Chrono Plus, Sport Steering Wheel, SPort Shifter, Bose, Nav and a Cayeene Satellite kit via PCM (no outboard tuner) along with K-40 front/rear and Armorglove. It's one sick ride and one you HAVE to look into! I opt for the coupe as I wanted a more firm car in handling as the cabs have a lighter spring rate in front due to the cab hardware. The PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) sounds soooo nice and I can control it via the Sport button :D

Life is too damn short! And in todays world maybe even shorter....

I hear you. I hope see you with a near twin to your car at one of the Poorboys events soon.

The flashlight yes, sad, but that was the first thing I said to my wife. I said, "Ah sh*t they got my flashlight and CD's".

I just got back from a quick trip to the Dominican Republic, its been a rough few weeks. I needed to get away.

I decided to give my wife my new Saab and I am going to get the new car. It seems a 2dr, unless it is a 997 or an exotic, is out of the question. I think I will try to get an BMW M5 if I can find one or that new Audi R6. I read the R6 has a seriously de-tuned 10 cylinder out of the Gallardo.

Anyone see or drive an 07 Audi R6?

Hey jsatek, did the place that parkedyour Cayenne ever pay for all the car? I think you said they paid for the deducible, but then a claim would be on your insurance. I would think they would have to have a Garage Keeper Policy like detailers. They are responsible for your car when they are in possession.

Glad to see your happy about your new car though.

My insurance will pay the lease company in a week or so. I am waiting to hear from my lawyer about the amount the garage is paying. He sent them a huge bill for the money I put down and misc items, I am sure they will fight it and we will go to court. No resolution yet.

I cant find a new BMW M5 for sale at a BMW dealer near me. One dealer offered to "find" me one with no color choice for $93,000 or just about $5k over sticker. Ill have to pass, I dont like it that much.
It looks like an Audi RS6 10 cylinder is the answer to my problem.

If you're not in any rush, why don't you order one to spec? Hell, I put my order in on the C2S back in December for a March allocation and got it in April. Worth the wait as I got what I wanted in the car instead of going the normal route.

You only live once! Before you take that "dirt nap" go and get what you really want!.

I am not sure I want to do it for the BMW. I am going to lease this, and the M5 is more of a cult car, I would not be able to reap the benefits. The lease is also horrible, I could buy an SL600 for nearly the same payment.
The Audi RS6 wont be on the lot until mid-summer 06 according to a dealer, I will have to wait. I couldn't even order it yet.

The only car I would ever own is the car you have Deanski. I couldnt see spending my money on anything else. (under $150k) A lease is a rental to me, I dont even change the oil in them.

Hey, you could wait for the Turbo!:D

To be honest, the 997 C2S you see in the pics happens to be leased! However, this one I'm purchasing near the end as I did a rather large cap cost reduction so it wouldn't be so bad monthly. Since I spec'd it just for me I doubt I would turn it back in.

I was asked why I did not wait for a GT3 or Turbo and it's due to the waiting list. There are quite a few waiting for the Turbo or the GT3 at this point. I would have been better off waiting myself for some time before attempting a spec Turbo or GT3 unless someone backs out of an allocation which DOES happen.

On another note, I got to drive a Cayman S on Limerock track! It was the regional Porsche club meet and Danbury Porsche made arrangements for customers to take one out on the track with an "instructor". First two laps, they show you the track line, then it's in to switch sides. I'll tell you, I'm impresssed as hell over the Cayman-S!! As hard as I drove it and as much times I tried to break it loose, it stuck like glue! Even with street "Conti's" for tires, not even PS/2's! No body roll as well. One of my friends is now thinking of getting one.

For a really sick Cayman-S, Farnbacherloles has made a Cayman GTR! They stuff a 3.8 X51 engine (like what I have w/o the X51) in it, bump it up to 400+ HP, add heavy brakes, suspension, cup type seats, and more. Damn now that's a sick little car!

Here's the link to it and the photos: http://www.farnbacherloles.com/st/projects.asp

Hope to hear you get what you deserve!

You are a killer, are you in sales! It’s a guy like you that is going to make me spend some cash on the toy I want. I truly don’t want the farty 4dr cars that "suit my lifestyle". I want a toy to leave in the garage and wax the hell out of that people would die to own. I read about that particular Cayman in Motor Trend or Road and Track on the plane home the other day. I thought it was perfect for me, but then a few pages later there was the new Turbo. I should really buy any car I like as long as I remember to lie to my wife and tell her it was within her threshold for financial pain. Having too many choices is as bad as having a few choices. It took me a long time to finalize on the Cayenne, I wanted to go the cheap route, but had a little vino and stepped up.

Go ahead, enjoy the vino! Nothing wrong with that!

It's always an issue with ones spouse when it comes to high-end cars. They never understand. Hell, I was told if I get the Porsche she'd divorce me. It was choose the car or wife, as you can see what my choice was.:D I'm still married.

I look at it this way, if I didn't do it now, I'd never get the opportunity again. I then started the order, gave a deposit just to hold an allocation, then another to order the car. Then, it was time to spec the car. Each item added to the total cost. I wanted the X51 power kit, but for $17K and only a 26HP increase I passed. I put the rest into other high-performance equipment. Then came finance. Oh boy, trying to limit cap cost AND monthly payments was tuff, but after a heavy cap cost reduction I now can make more comfortable payments, then in the end purchase the car. It hurt giving up that cash just to have this type of car, but boy I'm glad I did!:D

Wife wanted another SUV...What the hell? Why do we need an SUV? Had two already! I didn't want another SUV! No need for one. I purchased my old company car (Ford Escort Wagon) and use it for bad weather. When that car goes, I'll get another beater.

Ah, what the hell, have some more vino and go and get what you really want! Enjoy life the way you want to! Go ahead, pull the trigger on what you work hard for and want to enjoy! Do it now before it's too late!

Not a big fan of Audi only that they have the best 4 wheel drive sedans.

I also test drove the new Z06 Vette. Nice, lots of HP, good handling, but wouldn't want to drive it everyday as it does get hot inside. It also gets lots of road noise in the cabin as well. The interior screams GM. Plus, steering feels heavy. But for the money, it's one hell of a car! Another thing I noticed, after parking it at the dealer, you could smell the odor of burning plastic. Ugh!

Let us know which way your going for that new toy!

Building a case for a $100,000 car.

Deanski, you speak like a hard core party guy. I am going to step up with the big boys. I got the "you are selfish if you buy a car like that" speech from my wife last night. I cant wait to see what this cost me if I pull the trigger. Vacations? Watches?

I have had a horrible month.
1. Cayenne stolen
2. Allergic reaction to clams - emergency room visit
3. 2nd Allergic reaction to uinknown substance - second emergency room visit in 3 days
4. Ear infection that made me dizzy and fall at work. - emergency Dr. visit.
5. Dr. diagnoses me with high blood pressure at 140/100. I deny it and ask for a week to test again.
6. Lost a $90,000 kitchen remodel to a sleezy competetor.
7. Totaled father-in-laws beater car. Had to buy them a new car.

The good news is the high blood pressure was bogus, I just got back from vacation and went back to the Dr. My pressure is 130/80. I just completed my quest to find the best piece of red meat in NYC, I expect to be a little unhealthy.

I dont think anyone can deny that this was a rough road. I could go spec an 2007 997 for November-December delivery. Or I can go grab this nice white 360 coupe out in front of Miller Motor Cars in Greenwich. Ill be over there on Saturday to take my mother out for Mothers Day, it would be nice to do something crazy like, that both dealers are on the same street.

Sounds like I am "off the fence". If I wasnt so cheap, I'd have one of those already.

Re: Spec 997

If I were you, and you really want to spec a 997, the dealer I'd go to is Danbury Porsche and ask for Mike Killeen. He's the one I delt with when I ordered my 997.

They are one great dealer! A bit out of the way, but they offer so much. Our regional PCA club holds several meets at the dealer AND Farnbacherloles. Danbury was also the one who offered the track-time at Limerock with the Cayman S. They also did the satellite install in my 997. SOmething that's not offered for a 997. I had to use a Cayenne satellite kit to get it on the PCM.

Sure, I also went to New Country, but they could not offer what I wanted. They also kind of blew me off. Seeing I do not have loads of cash to walk in and order they really didn't offer much. They even wanted me to take a 997 that was used.

So, going forward, yes we may seem selfish at times, but it's those times when you have to discover that if you don't do it now, you may not have an opportunity to do it ever again. I had our condo completly remodeled, custom kitchen from Mohawk, same for that baths, all new Andersen 400 windows, new Carrier Infinity heat pump, new flooring, doors trim etc. As she said "Oh he has no say, hey's just here to write the check". new furniture and on and on. OK, it's now my turn....

It's a hard choice, but take your time and think which car you'd really enjoy.

I hope one day to see you at a PCA meet!:howdy

BTW, I do hope your next month will go better!

Regards,
Deanski

Sorry about your ride. I would NEVER give a car like that to a valet kid, it's really not such a big deal to park in the lot, lock it, and walk a few extra yards!

Thanks, not really a big deal, it was just a truck.

Good luck selling the Lincoln!
