<strong class='bbc'>speaking of rubber... some of my rubber exterior trims (the sealers around the doors) have begun to deteriorate to a point where i would rub it with a white towel and the towel will get slightly black. would cleaning it with rubbing alcohol fix this problem? followed by a coat of 303? Ng,
I am not a chemist but I would think that IPA could dry out rubber. What you want to do is keep it soft and pliable. I know we all avoid silicone containing materials for our dash and tires but for seals around the door, you can use a silicone pump spray. I have a plastic bottle and I use it for all the rubber parts of my scuba diving gear, it keeps them from drying out and cracking. If you don't want to try silicone, I think 303 will also work.
