The other day my friend asked me if i would detail his car for him. I charged him about $30. I gave him a good deal because not only is he my friend but this is a color that when it is dirty you cant really tell and when it is clean it doesnt look that clean. I first washed the car and then used soapy water to lube the clay as i clayed the car. then i washed the car again and dried it off. i then applied meguiars #82 via pc at 3500 rpms. i then took it off by hand witha microfiber cloth. next i put on a layer of wolfgang sealant applied and removed by hand. last i put on some meguiars next wax also hand applied and removed.

here are some pictures. tell me if you have any suggestions on how to do this job better, i am a novice and and constructive criticism is muchly appreciated.

my friend was throughly impressed becuase it "felt like silk" (he said) so he gave me $70 for the job

now for the constructive criticism: u should have charged more for the job you did, since i consisted of claying, polishing, sealant, and wax. u should not have used nxt wax as a topper because it contains cleaners in it which remove the sealant, so its kinda redundant.. u could have either used the sealant and left it, or used the nxt wax, without using the sealant, and that would have been find as well... no biggie though, cause u learn all the other s*** from reading around and just absorbing stuff.. and i dont know whats wrong with the camera.. looks fine to me
 
i agree with navindralr about topping the sealent with nxt. also, i would suggest using the pc at a higher speed, it will break down the polishes faster and put them to better use IMO. looks good tho:) nice job!

thanks for the suggestions, i wasnt sure about how fast to set the pc and didnt want to burn the paint or remove too much clear. next job i do i will run it at about 5-5.5 to remove the swirls. my camera is pretty old and now i can kind of see what your saying. im not that much of a camera guru so just taking pictures is good enough for me.
 
Don't be afraid to bump the PC to speed 6. I do all of my heavy polishing (think anything that won't be a final, or second to last step) on speed 6. There's really no way to burn the paint using a PC, and you'll have to work for a long time to take off too much clear at one time.

I think you did a good job with the detail. Like you noted, it's tough to appreciate results on a color like that.
