Mustang hit the 100K mile mark today

In addition to the change intervals I would also be curious as to what brand and weight oil you are running 8Banger. Also, have you done any engine mods?

I have always run Mobil 1 5W-30, yes 5W-30 NOT Ford's recommended 5W-20. The 4.6 Modular engine was designed and built with 5W-30 in the late 80s and Ford didn't change that spec until 2002 and most suspect the change was purely for the minuscule increase in fuel economy by the reduced friction of a thinner oil. I just don't have any faith that 5W-20 can protect this motor in the long term.

I also do not subscribe to the 3000 mile oil change interval either except in rare cases such as habitual short distance driving. My intervals run from 5000 mile intervals on the short end to 7500 miles on average. I rarely go over 7500 though. The 7500 mile average interval is what I have arrived at based on used oil analysis.

Do you have pictures of how the car looks NOW after 100k miles? People seem to get the impression that picture of your car new is how it looks after 100k miles.

That is because some are not actually reading my initial post. Here is a snippet of the post for those with short attention spans and don't quite make it to the end of the post ;)

In the meantime here is one of my favorite pics of the 'Stang when it was practically new.

I will be taking lots of pics next weekend when I detail her, you will have to wait 'till then :)
