Did my Formula today! FINALLY... It was getting pretty nasty... Stuck to exterior only though, I'll get to the interior another day, I'm burnt out and my hands are sore and I'm tired of looking at it after the last two days haha. Also decided to take off the nasty faded yellowish side molding, thank god I did, looks SO much cleaner, not to mention made detailing so much easier with a smooth straight door!

I wanted to try something other than the typical comound/seal/wax, so I thought I'd pick up some glaze to make the white really pop, then wax over that. The finish doesnt typically last nearly as long as a sealant, but I wanted to experiment, and since its my car, why not?

Process:

Wash with Mothers Cali Gold wash

2.5 hours worth of clay baring

Megs #2 meduim cut compound

Tropi-care Swirl cutter

Megs #6 New car glaze

Megs #26 Liquid carnuba wax

Megs Crystal formula carnuba paste

Tropicare final touch spray

Before's (after wash): Hard to tell but the molding along the door wasn't the same color, it was faded and yellowish...

THEN after glaze, liquid carnuba, carnuba paste! WOW

Top of spoiler (not the chunk missing from previous owners wife dropping a brick on it!! :shakefist )

Pulled outside to get any spots I missed (the carnuba paste dries like concrete, but makes a wicked gloss when its wiped off! :headbang ) Unfortunately, it was so damn bright out...

Then my battery died because I left the ignition on with the vent blowing, radio on, and parking lights on DOH! So I took a drive and spotted a nice little photo oportunity and had my camera with me so I grabbed a pic of it!

Thanks guys!

And unfortunately for the sake of fun driving its an A4... And i wish it was an M6....

However if I had the money I'd put a 3600 stall and 3.73 gears like my 99 Z28 had... Definately walked about any stick F-body or stang out of the hole.... 1.6 60' times on stock suspension with DR's... I miss that...

Nice. I took all that stuff off my LT1 Trans Am. Looks way better. On MOST cars, that bump molding is worthless anyway... ESPECIALLY on low sports cars, what door is going to hit your door that low?
