MotoGP - Qatar race

Second practice done.... The factory Yamaha's are struggling, with Rossi getting 9th and Lorenzo all the way back in 11th...

It's on FoxSports1....

In the meantime, go home and watch FASTER and FASTEST on Netflix... It is mandatory!!!!!

Woohoo! I found out last night I already have FoxSports1 :)

And I watched 50% of FASTEST last night with a few friends. I think I ended up converting them to MotoGP fans too lol. I'll be finishing it up tonight.

Rossi just barely made it directly into Q2, this should be a very interesting race if the open guys start at the front of the grid

And another plus is after the race is UFC Fight Night 38: Shogun vs. Henderson 2. Yay, a fight that isn't on Fight Pass! It's going to be a good sunday of racing and fighting! :rockon

It was an interesting race, but if Rossi can't beat Marquez with a broken leg than Rossi will never win another World Title again. IF Jorge stayed on his bike Rossi would have finished third at best. Sorry gang not a Rossi fanboy here. He lost me at Ducati which will remain a dark stain for him.

If Lorenzo made it over 1 lap he'd have to deal with Pedrosa too.

From 10th to 2nd fighting for the top step, you can't deny the talent Rossi has. A lot of guys crashed out this race so Redding and Hayden better enjoy the highest positions they'll probably achieve all season long.

Good to see Ducati closing the gap to becoming competitive again.

All in all, good day to be a Marquez fan!

I don't think Jorge ever worries about Pedrosa. Jorge had 8 wins last year to Pedrosa's 3. Jorge has 2 World Titles Pedrosa has 0 and has been in MotoGP for 9 long years now. The only one Jorge worries about now is Mr. Marquez. Lets see how this season goes.

True, but next race he needs to worry about completing a single lap :p

I think Jorge always worries about Pedrosa, the guy has been the runner up for the title a number of times and was a contender for the title last year up until the penultimate race. He has the most race wins of any GP rider without being a champion and he almost always finishes on the podium.

I see what you mean, but these past few years I'm certain Lorenzo was worried much more about Pederosa's team mates Stoner and now Marquez. Both did better than Pedrosa and were a force to be reckon with. Nothing against Pedrosa he really is the modern day Randy Mamola of Moto GP.

The Yamaha's were having tire-specific issues with this race course. The fact that Rossi over came these issues, when Lorenzo didn't, and ran neck and neck with Marquez on the superior (at this track) Honda says a lot. The fact that he was able to make the softer tires last as long as Marquez's harder compound was even more impressive, as Rossi was the smoother rider for the entire race.

Yes, the Ducati thing was a dark stain, on Ducati. They get the greatest rider of all time, the guy who built the M1, and refuse his technical advice, reflected poorly for Ducati's arrogance in the sport. Very few people blame Rossi's performance on the Ducati on Rossi, as Ducati struggled once they went back to 1000cc machines.

I don't think that Rossi will win another title, but it was good to see him racing aggressively and keeping up with the current GP champ.

Todd, Lets see what happends next race in Europe. Me thinks Marquez ( back to 100% health) and Lorenzo will run away. Kinda of like they did last year. Remember 2013. How did Rossi fair that year on the exact same bike as Lorenzo?? He ran 4th,5th, and 6th most of the year. Don't believe me go look. The Doctor is getting old (35 now) and slower. Yes he was the greatest ever, but he is not right now at this moment.

Back in 2010 at the San Marino GP that takes place in September Rossi had already signed for Ducati and Stoner for Honda. Rossi blamed the poor performance of the Ducati all on Stoner. I will never forget that one. The first 4 to 5 races of the 2011 season Rossi was for the most part on the exact same Ducati as Stoner. What did Rossi do with it? I tell ya what he did. Zero. That was the same bike Stoner won 3 races and podiumed 9 times that year(2010) alone. Explain that to me and don't tell me that Ducati was great back in 2010. Rossi did crap with Ducati and never should have gone there, but in his big head he figured IF Stoner can win every single year on it I can too. Big boo boo for him. What did Stoner do in 2011? He ran away with the championship on that Honda with 10 wins and 12 poles. Even Marquez didn't get 10 wins and 12 poles on that Honda in one year. Not doubting he can, but he has yet to repeat Mr. Stoner's performance. To bad Stoner left GP racing. It would have been awesome to see him mix it up with Marquez and Jorge.

The difference between Rossi and Stoner is that Rossi is a showman and Stoner hated the spotlight. If Stoner embraced the media attention instead of running from it he would still be in MotoGP today.

No doubt Stoner has a lot of talent but he didn't know how to nor want to capitalize on the media attention in order to gain to the hearts of fans like Rossi has done and like Marquez is now doing.

Now how about that prediction I had back before the race?

Apart from Lorenzo crashing out and ruining my lineup I didnt do too bad I dont think. :D
