Mothers Trigger Wash....

Luster

COMPULSIVELY ANAL
This product was a door prize at a car show. Thought I'd try it. Here's my take on it.

1. I hosed down the car completely.
2. Spray 3-4 squirts of Mother's Trigger Wash on each panel, washing with wash mit afterwards.
3. Rinse
4. Not the most sudsy, but very good slickness.
5. Very easy to use.
6. No bucket to mess with. (Could use a bucket for rinsing the mitt, but I just used the hose).
7. Smells good.
8. Didn't really use very much product. I'm guessing 15-20 washes per bottle.
9. Cleaned the car well, including bugs.
10. Not very effective on brake dust.
11. Left the paint surface smooth and shiney.
12. Didn't remove wax (still beading)
13. Price? I don't know since it was a gift. Most Mother's products are reasonably priced.
14. A little quicker than bucket washing. Not as quick as QEW. (no rinsing/drying with QEW).

Overall I'd rate it about 7 out of 10.

Anyone else try this product? Like it?

I've used it. I liked it. It seemed to really clean tires well (along with a brush). Mothers discontinued it this year, though. :(
But, I guess that could mean some places are clearing it out!

I'd go with the bucket wash too. You need to keep rinsing the mitt with the hose with the bucketless washes (expensive at the wash bays, but then, if there is a sign prohibiting bucket washes in the bays, you could use this and technically not be breaking the rules! .). Basically, I think this is a good pre-soak, as you're getting the soap on the car where you want it (on the bugs, heavy dirt etc.), but you could also manage to do so with regular shampoo/bucket washes too. Just another method of applying the shampoo, IMO.

I'd go for the bucket wash also. But the trigger wash does save you a little time.

My personal favorite....... QEW.

I mixed Meg's GC and water in a spray bottle, just enough that it sprays like a QD not as a string, and it works beautifully for washing. Saves tons of time over the two-bucket method, just make sure to spray down the car first. THe GC is also more economical than the regular Bucket-Free washes, too. It works just as well as regular bucket washing, and I find rinsing the mitt with the hose to be easier than dragging on and constantly refreshing a bucket.
