Mothers Reflections VS meg's NXT?

i was wondering how Eagle Nano Wax compares with either of those to. I bought it but haven't had a chance to open the bottle.
 
Personally, I prefer NXT. Reflections is easier to use but I don't find durability all that great. I haven't really tested it much, though. What was surprising to me was how much it sheeted water, and it's not the kind of sheeting you get when a sealant is on its way out.
 
I have NXT,Reflections, Turtle wax Plat.,Synwax, Wet and Nano.



I prefer:



1. Reflections ( best OTC ) Also love the Relections car wash!

2. NXT

2.5 Turtle wax Plat.

3. SynWax ( IMO not as good as the above )

4. WET

5. NANO ( not as good as WET ,but doesn't dry white.)
 
I think Alex's conclusion was that Reflections was the best looking of the lot.



I like both Reflections and NXT...in fact I just did a customers Jag XK120 with NXT and can't believe how good it made the red metallic look!



But then I used Reflections on anothers blue metallic Porsche and it looked deep and wet like a carnauba.



It really depends on the colour paint and what look you like.



Me...if I only had one choice between the two I'd get Reflections, with NXT a close second, as the consensus of those who've used both seem to be Reflections is considered the best OTC wax around.



SynWax is another winner for those who like the shinier Zaino look.
 
I've gotten 3 months of rain beading out of NXT outside 24/7 and Meguiars claims it proteccts longer than it beads so IMO its pretty durable. the NXT can have an artificial look on some colors. On white it looks outstanding. The Reflections probably would look better on darker metallics as NXT can mute the flake a bit. this is based on what I've read not having used the Reflections personally.

For me, NXT is dead after two washes. No beading, no sheeting, no slickness, no shine. Dead. This in on a garaged car that is driven about twenty miles/day. It's perhaps the least durable LSP I've ever used. I still use it occasionally (NXT does have an interesting look and nice gloss), but I never use it without the intent of topping with something else to improve durability.



I can't speak re: Reflections (not used it yet), but Mother's SynWax is on par with NXT for initial looks, and is much easier to use, IMO. I haven't tested SynWax for durability yet (it's summer, so I'm constantly trying different LSPs), but the only way it could be less durable than NXT (on my car, in my evironment - YMMV) is if the polymer film were to slide off in a sheet immediately after application.

I have had horrible durability with NXT also (3-4 weeks tops). If you reapply every few weeks, then you should be fine. It did slightly darken the paint in my opinion as well (better on darker colors). I have read those who have had 2+ months of protection with Reflections, but then again there are those who have reported multiple months of protection from NXT as well. You might just want to buy, or trade, to try both then post your results. Good luck! :)
 
Well, my impressions were already quoted ;)

However, let me repeat them to make it clear:



NXT is a (very) good product with handsome looks and quite versatile. However, it is NOWHERE as good as the new reflections. PERIOD.



Reflections looks deeper in darks, as shiny in whites, even sparklier in metallics and deeper in flat paints. It is slicker after application, and just a little slicker after 24 hours. It is easier to apply and much easier to remove than NXT (new benchmark for application / removal) The smell is nicer to my nose, and DURABILITY one on one, head to head will kill NXT. Yes, I am the crowd that has NXT go down after 2 washes. Booster wax? Exists for both, so reflections has the edge. Reflections has also the top coat, which is like reflections 2005 blended with some carnauba and NO cleaners for layerability.



NXT has the upper hand in the cleaning department and swirl hiding. The cleaners in reflections advanced wax (not the top coat) are so mild I doubt they will do anything else other than allowing the LSP to proper bond. In fact, in a car with not so good finish NXT will beat reflections handily because of its stronger cleaners.



Easy application: A product that dries fast, doesn't streak, spreads thin almost by itself no matter what method or applicator you use.

Easy removal: A product that is so easy to remove it almost falls by itself, no matter if it was applied thin or cake-icing thick. A product that if tried to removed when it is not dry yet will not streak.

Analyze your current product. If it doesn't meet this criteria then you haven't tried EASY yet..... ;)



Best OTC:

1) Reflections 2005 easily.

2) Reflections 2002 (old one, resin based)

3) Tie - FX and Turtle ultra

5) Tie - NXT and nanowax.



Nanowax hides swil better than NXT (the best for this in my opinion) but is harder to remove. Durability is like NXT. These 2 like the turtle ultra are like cats: AFRAID of a bath. ALL of them can go 6, 8 even 10 weeks WITHOUT a wash and still be in good shape no mater dust or heat. However, wash them and it doesn't matter if you applied it yesterday or 5 weeks ago, they tank. I don't why yet, but the rain doesn't affect them while a wash will make them cry. Reflections 2005 doesn't tank after 2 washes no matter the car soap used

I have been thinking of trying the new reflections as I have always liked Mothers products. I have tended to not try the old reflections as I was not impressed with Hot Wheel Wax which is a mix of resin and carnuba. The problem is that I have enough stuff now that buying another LSP will take me 3 years to use up. Who knows I'll might just break down and get it.
 
Personally, I love Reflections since its introduction a couple of years ago. Loved it more with the new reflections and top coat. It's by far the easiest to use and durability is excellent.



NXT, is ok but hard to use and durability sucks.
 
From what I'm reading here, it seems the new Reflections is the way to go for OTC.



I have used NXT and it looks great, but I am not experienced with it enough to know about durability. I wash my cars once per week so this might become an issue.



Also, easier application and removal is always a bonus. I've been happy with NXT's ease of removal, but if Reflections "almost falls off by itself" then I'd be happier.



I know experiences vary greatly with all the different variables in detailing... Anyone else prefer one over the other (Reflections or NXT) so strongly?
