Mother's Reflections Car Wax and FX Tire Shine: A Review

is the fx tire shine, white or clear? in my experience/preference... it seems that clear tire dressings as opposed to white, sling. i prefer the white colored dressings (megs natural shine, michelin 3in1 tire shine) more.

If my understanding is correct, white silicone-based dressings are water-based and clear dressings are not.

I *think* all of Mothers dressings are water-based.

It's a white, thick liquid.

By the way, a thread in Good Deals says Pep Boys has this on sale for $4.88. :up

because of this thread, I have been on the hunt for Mother's Reflections and FX lines of products. No luck.

The detail bug has bitten me again since making my car look new again this past weekend and I have 3 more cars to do so I wanted to try other stuff. I want to give FX a shot, see how I like it, and lay down some Top Coat over my FC#2/VM/S100 prepped car and see if that adds to the gloss. Nobody locally had it but my local Baxter Auto Parts came through for me and special ordered it for me. I didn't even have to put any money down up front, placed the order at 4pm today and the product will be ready for pick up in the morning at 9am! Now that's what I call service.

Update: I just examined the Reflections wax after nearly a week and one rainstorm and it is holding up well. Still very slick. Good reflectivity.

just read on the mothers web site that it is meant for dual action polishers, and I think can be used with their powerball. I think I am going to give the Reflections line a try, looks like some good stuff and great review

I haven't tried either product yet cause it's been raining, but soon!!! I can't wait.

I gotta get some of that PowerPolish too, see how good that works out.

I used top coat today. It went on easy and came off easy too. My wife's truck had some spider webbing so I first used Power Polish with a polishing pad. It removed about 95% of the marks. I then followed with Refelctions and then Top Coat. The appearance was a very wet look and the black paint looked very deep. The surface was very slick too. I was very surprised and very happy with the products. More good quality products from Mothers.

Good feedback!

But when you said you used Reflections, then Top Coat, what exactly did you use? Reason im asking is because "Reflections" is actually the name of a line of products, including Top Coat. I'm assuming you used Reflections Car wax???

So wait...what exactly is "Top Coat" then? Is it a wax or a sealant?
It's neither.

It's the quintessential last step, as Mother's puts it. It's supposed to add gloss, depth and protection to your freshly waxed finish. It contains no cleaners and can be applied over any type of car wax, sealant or glaze.

just bought (printed a $1 off coupon which expired today at pepboys:)) fx tire shine and am anxious to use it. also... i stopped by target and bought another can of stoners IG on clearance for .98$ :D

Ah...thank you for clarifying.
