Mothers Professional Line really Kicks!!

Recently a representive from Mothers sent me some of their new products from the professional line. YES, Mothers has a PROFESSIONAL LINE! I do not detail a lot of exotic cars or get invited to any seminars, but when Mothers contacted me to try out some new products I could not wait. I have not had a chance to try them out until today due to the holidays and weather. My wife's SUV may get washed once a week, but it takes me 4 months to really work on it. Well it has been over 4 months and really needed it!

After washing the SUV, I applied the DPS Finishing Glaze with my pc set on 3. I was really happy with the it covers and works fast to bring out the shine. I would compare it to Meguiars #80, but the depth seems deeper. I have used #80 on a lot of cars and it works great on darker colors. As you see in the photo, my wife's car is not that dark. I have really wanted something to add real depth to lighter cars and now I have found it! After applying the finishing glaze on the whole car, I then applied the California Gold Ultimate Wax System - Phase 3 which is a paste wax. It went on real easy and did not take much to do the whole car. For just doing a two step on her car, I was really blown away. I usually only get that much depth on a three step so I was real happy.

The other products I will beging testing this week are: RC1 and RC2 Rubbing Compound, FP! Foam Pad Polish, FW4 Final Wax and the new Power Metal Polish with the Power Ball.

I am real happy with the results and would recommend giving Mothers Professional line a try. Mothers is BACK:up

Rick, glad to see youre hanging in there. Im really interested in the Mothers Pro line and what you think about it. Dont forget to update as you try more of this stuff out.

I am hanging in there and expanding my business. I turned down a temp job in Florida to Detail boats because that would be a little to far to haul all my equipment.

cool stuff.... but I think I'd fix the torn lettering on the back window if you're using that truck to advertize for you/your business.... :xyxthumbs

My very first *3 step* detail was done with Mother's. Around 96' they came out with a 3 step kit that included a paint cleaner, glaze, and liquid carnauba. It made my oxidized red paint look almost like new again and that was only with a Sears orbital with terry bonnets! :o

Actually, around that time I tried Meg's products and I had nothing but problems with them. Both companies have come a LONG way! :xyxthumbs

Yes Jason, it is as you say. Both Mothers and Meguiars have paved the way and have come a long way.

2005 will be an exciting (and expensive) year trying the new products from these two watershed companies. About 40 products!

Mothers may have been the underdog, but with these and other new products Mothers has released it will turn some heads. When I first started detailing over 30 years ago - Mothers was all I used. It is always nice to come back to your beginnings! I hope I did not give my age - still a young pup at heart and that is all that matters!!!!

So far I've only tried the Ultimate Wax System, Hot Wheels Premium Wax, and Reflections. Satisfied with it. It's what you would expect from a typical consumer line, just like Megs DC, NXT, GC. But personally I like Mothers SG. This one rocks! I've yet to try out the proline and determine my real favorites, just as #83, #80, and #26, #20 #16 faves in the Megs proline.

2 coats of Mom's SG and you blew it! Awesome reflections!

Also, I wanna try those FX and Powerlines and hope availability would improve here in my place...

Microfiber bonnet with terry loops. Used on either an orbital or PC (over a pad). Can be used for wax application or removal.

Can anyone relate the aggressiveness of their rubbing compound to DACP or 3mPI-III?

I talked with Mothers today and RC1 is thier Super Duty Compound, and RC2 is thier regular compound.

#83 (DACP) is most like FP1 and FP2 - diminishing particle polishes.

Hope this helps!

For those interested, Mothers is coming out with a new catalog that lists all of their products. I am in contact with a representive from Mothers and as soon as it is posted I will give an update.

Also a side note:

Mothers sells pads for the pc and orbital. I am in the process of getting some for testing and will keep you posted.
