Mothers products

fatchance, that picture has given me the inspiration to break out the Mothers I have on my shelf. Your 300C looks outstanding (and I was so fortunate and thankful to actually get to drive it when I was over there, I still tell everyone back here :D ).

I generally use Megs but was lucky to win a voucher from an Auto Store which carried Mothers, hence I have some product which I haven't used yet.

Give it a shot and post your thoughts on the products!

I'm sure that the new reflections is promising. i would like to see a review of the REFLECTIONS , FX vs the Gold Class ,Mirror Glaze. :dance

im only considering the mothers reflections frugal customer and will kepp my top notch arsenal of PB's, Adams, Clearkote.Optimum etc.. :xyxthumbs

Has anyone tried Mothers Protectant on your dash?

How does it compare to 303 or PB's Natural Look?

Also, what type of finish does it produce (i.e. matte, satin sheen, shiny, greasy)?

Since a lot of people think that FX spray wax is hard to use under 40 degrees, why not use it wet. After you wash the car spray the FX on and then wipe dry . Just rinse out your drying towels after use .

do you want to explain that statement better? Are you suggesting that the only people who use Mothers are doing so because it is cheap? IMO that is not the case.

Its a satin sheen look I'd say. I like the look, application (spray and wipe) and it dries to the touch and seems to reduce dust.

I'd say your cought up in the botique hype. I've used many botique type products and the Mothers performs as well if not better. That seems to be the moral of the story. As for frugal, every member that has replied to this thread has used and or has many of the botique products in their arsenal. It's not about price, it's about performance and Mothers delivers.

I use the Mothers Protectant and it's great, it leaveing a nice satin sheen.

This is exactly what autopia is NOT about. Hype over facts.... your call.... a few of those "top notch" products are embarrased by Mothers..... I gave 2 examples that I will repeat:

- Try EX side to side against reflections top coat, come back and report winner in look, durability and aplication..... :p

- Try EX-P+ and UPP side to side with FX. Same preparation, same polishing. Report back look, easiness to apply and slickness after application. Wash the car the next weekend and report again.... pay special attention to the slickness :p

There are a few others, but these 2 should suffice :grinno:

In fact, I had a few of those "top notch" products that I had to give aways as gifts because I replaced them with the frugal mothers products.... myabe I just don't like my car to look as nice.... :p

Last year when the new Mother's products were coming out, I was contacted by Mother's to test them. I found all their new line outstanding and use them regularly in my business. I really like the PowerBall and Power Metal Polish and tested them on nasty stained chrome with fantastic success.

rl,

I remember that you were going to try their professional line a while back. Any updates?

If you mean the NEW Gold Class, then that would be an interesting comparison. If you refer to the old formula, then, no contest and no point.

What's the Mirror Glaze?

thanks to this thread, i just went and bought some of the reflections top coat ($14.99) and can't wait use it. :doh:o

I think MOTHERS products are super underrated and enthusiasts should definitely give it a try. By the way, anyone if the MOTHERS PROTECTANT for dashboard is silicone or water based?

Mothers Protectant is a silicone emulsion that is water based.

There is another thread here about the Power Polish. A couple of guys there are saying it works very good. Even similar to Megs DACP with an agressive pad.?

According to Alfisti, it is a lot like Optimum Polish--no dusting, very user friendly, can never be worked too long, and with a yellow cutting pad it's like DACP or SSR2.5, but with a white polishing pad it's a lot milder, like #80.
