Mothers Power Ball - I need instructions

The sell a lot of those to people who really dont know better. I cant imagine using one to do a car. Not trying to bash, but even the "lowly" PC is practically idiot proof and way better than working by hand.

Anyways, they seem to do a good job on wheels.

PC? im sorry, but i dont know what that is, i dont think..

Nope. Unless you use sand as your polish or something. Thats the beauty of the dual action motion that the PC has. Really cuts down on mistakes and potential damage done to the paint.

Once a lot of guys get good, they move up to a rotary. But for a lot of us, a dual action polisher is perfect.

Well hard to say. Ive never used one. If you are good and know what you are doing, they are faster and offer higher levels of correction. but to a lot of people, the difference isnt enough to dish out the extra cash and/or run the *risk* of a mistake

yeah, i will definately try the DA. My own truck needs alot of correction, so i figure it would be good to practice on. hopefully i can afford to go to some kind of training seminar next winter and learn the high speed buffer techniques.

how much better is the rotary than the PC?

just an F.Y.I. several Pro's on here that are very good with a rotary

have put the rotary on the shelf because the PC/105 combo works so good

also Kevin Brown is working on a paper to show how to use

the PC/105 to do some awesome defect removal...it should be posted any day now

and as far as the powerball goes, if it wasnt any good, i doubt they would be selling any!

Not true - most people are stupid - it's not that difficult for something that's a POS to be a good seller with the right marketing.

You own a detailing business yet don't use a PC (or similar) or a rotary?

What are you doing? "Hand wax, Hand Wash" and call it a detail?

Sorry...just a little confused.

uh yeah, im sorry that i didnt clarify.. I recently started my business (around 2 months ago).. I used to wash cars at my fathers dealership all thru school.. I knew i was good at 'detailing', but after joining this site I realized there is soooo much i dont know anything about. I am not ashamed at all to admit i dont know 'everything'. But, things are going very very well right now and if business keeps up like it is (or gets better hopefully) throughout the summer, I am going to go to several training seminars in the winter.. There is so much more i want to learn. I have always strived to be the best at WHATEVER i do, and this is no exception.. So for now, my 'hand wash, hand wax' technique will have to do. I did happen to clear over $2000 this weekend with my 'basic' methods AND never had to ever break out the wax! (see mobile crew thread) If i can manage that income on a weekly basis without plugging anything in except a vacuum cleaner, then why bother with the other stuff until i can properly learn how to use it? So, i hope this clears up your 'confusion'..

Does clearing 2K this weekend mean during 1 week or for 2 months? If it's 1 week, that's more than most on this site make in a week. If you are making 2k a week, then stick to it, Kid. You are doing better than most. On the other hand, by starting out with a pc, your work will improve 100%. You cannot remove swrils and marring by hand within a reasonable time. Get a pc and the right set-up and you'll be a happy camper. Go to a class and get some rotary experience if you really want to get serious about this detailing venture. All the luck to you.:buffing:

Chip Foose uses it on TV. 2k in a weekend if you got $50 ea. thats 40 cars, you are a better man than I.
