Mother's phase three vs. meg's hi-tech yellow

i was wondering if you were given the choices between mother's carnauba wax(not the cleaner wax) and meguiar's hi-tech yellow which one would you pick?

For me I give the edge to #26, but not by much. The Mother's is an excellent product, and I can easily see someone else preferring it to the #26.

I used both and I gave the edge to MOTHERS PURE CARNUBA WAX I really loved the product and it lasted a good 6 weeks on my car NOT to mention that the can is big so you can put a nice size applicator in it when working on your car

I love working with the Mother's GC liquid; it's SO easy to buff off, and leaves an incredible shine.

The Meg's #26 liquid is almost as easy to work with, doesn't stain the trim as badly, and costs less, but I've found it may only have 85% of the shine factor- it's your call.

I'm definately switiching from Meg's #26paste to one of those 2. I have both at home, just need more comparsion waxing :bounce

thanks for your replies, i ended up getting the liquid #26. but i think i might have nded up with mother's but both discount auto and autozone didn't have it.

outsider,

Both of those products are for paint that is in excellent condition. They are both pure waxes without cleaners; that's what Mike is referring to. If you are going to use either product, you have to do the clay/clean/polish first, or all you'll get is shiny swirls. For some people here, perfect paint isn't an issue.... ;)

I had assumed (and I'm assuming again, that most other did along with me) that your paint was in great shape, given your 2 choices.

oh, it's a six month old car so i planned on claying, meg's deep crystal paint cleaner, show car glaze, nxt tech wax, then #26. how does that sound?

i been useing hi-tech for a year now and i love it. heres a pic of my 1 year old car. never been polish or clay bar. only been wax like once a month.

Both great products. Neither will disappoint. I like the Mothers CG Carnauba Wax - large can, great gloss, great durability, LOVE the smell too!!

Maybe it depends on climate? I used to be a loyal Mother's Cali Gold Pure Carnauba user until I discovered #26. I like the look of both, but the #26 won hands down for durability in my climate.

You might have a point. I haven't compared them in hot weather. During the cooler months (which are now in southern Australia) Mothers CG Pure Carnauba has excellent durability...it beads and shines for, atleast, a few of months of rain.

Does anyone else have any experience with this winter/summer angle for carnauba?

Logically, a natural wax (even one with a very high melting point like carnauba) will go softer in the high heat and not last as well as synthetics? True or false?
