Mothers Cleaner Wax, any good??

I thinks it works very well. One of the better off the shelf brands around, IMHO. I got about a month of beading from it.

Hmm, cool.

so I think i might just go ahead and use this stuff for now.

Raises a question though,

later down the line i'm going to want to do a full polish on the car, so will I have to wash it with dishwashing soap or something to get the mothers stuff off before starting the polishing process??

Put down that bottle of Dawn and back away from your car, sir.

Your polishing steps will remove any remaining wax that is on the car. Unless you are going to use Zaino after polishing with products containing oils, Dawn needn't be a part of your detailing regiment.

Actually, it is a very good product. I would suggest topping it with Mothers Carnauba or Meguiars #26 for additional protection though.

Longevity and durability isn't seen on the Mom's Carnauba Cleaner Wax. Its a great one step all in one product and its cool to be included in the CLAYBAR KIT for starters. But do top it off with a more durable product for extended protection.:)

I am late to the party, but this is a very good cleaner carnauba wax. I think its cleaners are strong enough to be used as a true one-step, yet not too aggressive. I love it! In fact, it is my #1 choice when someone with not so good paint wants a quick wax and wants to see a big change! :up

It used to be also my main wax in dark cars, but as a good autopian I am getting deeper into the addiction so I am trying new stuff ;)

Use it and you will be pleased

OK so heres an update.

I went ahead and used it,

This was my first time waxing my car!(or any car really! yes i'm new).

I am happy with the results!

took me a long time, wash/wax the whole car, and used some backtoblack on plastic portions,

took me at least 3hours(didnt mask anything off and was very careful around trim and such..).

I used up almost the whole 4oz bottle,

would you guys say that that is a bit too much product to use?

Anyhoo, the outcome was very nice I must say!

So many tiny scratches and haziness in the paint dissapeared after the waxing. I'm not sure if it's cleansers actually removed imperfections from the paint, or if its just hidden under the wax, but bottom line is it looks good!

heres a pic(actually this is a few days after the waxing)

Not bad. Just the cleaner wax? Wait until you try out some of the polishes and a REAL wax!

Nice start though.

i love the smell of that stuff...the can (paste) smells better than the liquid. Cherry scent by the way.

A buddy was using this at the office garage on a newer black F150 and the whole garage smelled great!! and his truck looked quite impressive...i was surprised.

yeah it does smell REAL good!! haha

I couldn't place the smell till now but I think you're right.

cherry it is!

a full buff/polish and some sealant would be cool!

thats later though ;)

Nice work Tad!:xyxthumbs Cool Civic too:cool: The smell your referring to is a combination of cinammon and cherry (I THINK). Anyways, I do think 4oz., was too much for a small car like a civic hatch. :)

Tad, the car looks great! As the others said, try using less. In fact, a commonly agreed approach is to use the thinnest possible coat.
