i think i know the answer, but i really like the performance of the mother's claybar i got recently and it was really cheap. my question is i'm about to do the full zaino treatment to my car this weekend but i'm concerned about using the mother's quick detail product with the claybar. should i mix up one of the zaino products (i forget which one is was) that i see people talk about for the lube instead just to keep everything zaino? if so, anyone have any uses for the mother's quick detail for later? does anyone or would anyone use it for quick detailing every now or then on their zaino'd car? i'm dutch, so i hate not using a product i paid for.....stinkin' dutch roots....

Sure, you can use the Mother's clay bar over Zaino without any problems. However, I'd mix up a solution of the Zaino Z7 wash as the lube either in a spray bottle or a wash bucket (my preference).

I only use Z6 QD on Zaino, since it's specifically made for Zaino polishes. I do have other QDs but do NOT use them on Zaino. If you do, wash them off thoroughly before adding another coat of Z2/Z5. I use the "other" QDs to shine up or remove finger prints off of guitars, watches, etc....anything really, besides my car. No need to waste them after all! ;)

Z7 wash as a clay lube. Mothers clay works great. If you have your heart set on using mothers QD'er as lube, just wash with Z7 wash afterwards and then Z1 and Z2 again, or Z2 with ZFX!

I like using diluted Z-7 as the lube because I often get 'dirty suds' when claying a car that's been a little neglected. As for the Mother's QD, you can use it on your zaino'd car on days when you are NOT planning to add another coat of Zaino. However, like Metallic Mike said, it's best to always use Z-6 on a zaino'd car.

How much Z7 and water should be mixed together to be used as the clay lube?? I've always used a QD for my claying before, but I'm interested to try the Z7 route.....thanks!

Or do what I do.....wash the car, rinse, then soap up a panel with your washmitt, clay, and rinse............

Good luck!
