Mothers Carnuba Vs. Blitz and P21S

Hi,

I am about to place an order for my detailing needs.

Currently I have Mothers Pure Gold Carnuba Wax and not sure if I want to try another wax.

Has anyone done any comparisons between Mothers Wax and say something like Blitz and/or P21S Wax????

The Mothers I find is quite a nice topper for my car, but before ordering I wondered if I was missing out on a better shine by not using another wax.

I have used both Mother's Gold ( bright red can ) and P21S. The P21S is by far a better wax for shine, ease of application and detailing. What do I mean by "detailing". P21S wax does not stain molding or leave a white chalky residue. Mother's Gold does both.:scared This is very important since I use carnuaba on one of my black LS400. Also P21S is not a cleaner wax and has zero abrasives. The durability is okay ~4-6 weeks.

First choice for shine, appearance and protection - sealant (Zaino)

Second choice - P21S for an excellent carnuaba at an reasonable price.:wavey

They are all good, but Blitz and P21S are probably just a touch better. Mother's is my favorite off-the-shelf wax. Blitz is the durability king; it's what I use. And P21S has an excellent shine (almost like Souveran) for a low price. You can't go wrong with any of them. Mother's is really, really good. These other waxes are maybe 10% better. I use Mother's on my relatives' cars.

Thanks Guys!

I think I may try out P21S, I don't mind waxing every two months, and the car will be garaged over night.

Only thing I am concerned about is that I have never used a Wax which you buff-off without drying!!

What is the best procedure, buff-on to one panel and then buff-off that panel, or work in even smaller areas?

Since you have a garage 1 panel at a time will allow you to wipe off prior to complete drying of the P21S. Of course this will depend on the ambient temperature and humidity. I am normally able to apply to a complete panel, except hood, top and trunk prior to removal. These other areas I split up. P21S applies like butter and wipe off very evenly and easily. I use 100% USA cotton towels with good results and final wipe with a flannel cloth( natural MF ).

Enjoy and sit back relish your shine. :wavey

I agree with all of the above, however, IMO you'll notice a bigger difference between Mother's and P21S if your car is black or red. If your car is white you won't notice much difference at all except for the fact that P21S is much easier to use. Also, be sure and buff the s*it out of the P21S or you'll have streaking. Again, this is most noticeable on black or red.

Pic of "P21S" 'd automobile. My only real gripe about it is of all the carnauba's I've experimented with, the longevity is in question with P21S, about 2 months, this with the car being always garaged as well (but commuting in the elements, rain, in the Pacific Northwest) Be sure to buy the P21S paint cleaner if you decide this route, great stuff and only $10

Edit: I might add, I used it prior to a 2 week vacation on a Ford Explorer, during this vacation at the end of May, we hit snow in Montana and Wyoming, hail (small) and various weather. We put 4500 miles on the SUV and when we got home, the wax was gone! No water beading, finger nail test confirmed.
