Most talented detailers on this site

Wow, that's a tough list to compile...

There are so many great detailers on this site! I think most of my favorites were already listed above.

I saw my name mentioned a few times above, so thanks to EisenHulk, Bryan and Todd! You are all on my list too! :)

Sorry I read the post and forgot the thread title....

Don't judge the skill level of the individual based on the level of their write ups or quality of the pictures they take, because you are judging their write-up and picture ability....

Don't judge the skill level because they pull off the wheels, because the intangeable is that they are paid to do this...

My point being is that detailing is such a BROAD SPECTRUM....

As far being able to take my time and turn about perfect results, I woud like to think I have THOSE skills sets pretty well...

As far as being able to turn out quality work in a short time, many others are much better then myself and others...

In the end it is about how the detailer represents himself and if he makes his client's happy, and truthfully, that is the true talent.

Great post Todd! Well said...

I agree 100%

Just to clarify....that should just include Bryan and Todd.

I should be nowhere near this list. :2thumbs:

ME!!! hahaha

there are too many to list based on pictures here...never seen personal work...but I have heard stories...both good and bad about detailers in my area...

The guys I look up to are Mike Philips, iamwaxman (Kevin Brown), Superior Shine, TH0001, RickRack, Rydawg, David Fermani, and gmblack3a. These guys are top notch. Kevin, Todd, David, and Bryan have taken time out of their busy schedules to answer questions for me over the phone in the past, and I appreciate it.

Oh... I forgot a few...(only named Scottwax originally), but I didn't list guys from other fourms like Mike Phillips and Joe (he's a legend) but also tdekany is amazing as well... heck...even ww (above) is pretty darn good and yall can...

BALEE DAT!

I have to agree with todd. Any one of us can type a nice story and snap some photos. While some of the photos are amazing, and some of the write ups are incredible you still dont see the real deal.

There are a lot on here I respect and make a point to look at their topics.

TH0001, Rydawg ,RickRack, and Scottwax are a few that come to mind but there are others.

One I have to put on this list is WeekendWarrior. He is a hard working honest guy who always has a few minutes to help you out. He may not have all the years under his belt like some of the other guys here, but he does fantastic work.

Enter joke-

I always know that if I need some SIP and I dont have SIP, David has some SIP, David delivers, call David for SIP, he might even toss in a pad. ..Thanks again man!

there are many greats on this board that really impress me, and to name a few... scottwax, ebpcivicsi, david fermani, and the list goes on... also, there are many great contributors that have excellent recommendations/tips (just as important), and to name a few of them... accumulator, etc...

Too many to name. TH0001, Rickrack, David Fermani, etc. are in the "elite" level, I have a ton of respect for them.

I remember when Todd first started mentioning Menzerna filling, I'm like "this guy is full of sh*t", and after a while I realized that he was right! Probably took huge cajones to tell this to a bunch of people who didn't want to believe it.

There are also plenty of excellent detailers who never post pics. I know the last thing *I* want to do after spending 2 days on a car is try to capture the results on camera.

Most of the people on this site do exceptional work, and for fear of putting anyone down, I don't like to say that one person is more talented than the other. However, there were a few who I think are worth mentioning because they have inspired me with their expertise (and C&Bs!) since I began detailing.

Kevin (Picus): When I first discovered Autopia, his Click and Brags stood out among all of the rest. I would search under his username and browse through his work for hours, reading his write-ups, and wondering if I could ever get the same results. After a few phone calls with him, I was making my first purchases of detailing supplies and working on my family's cars within days of receiving them. Since then, I've been hooked. I guess this is my formal way of saying, "Thank you," though I ought to be damning him for what he's done. (Detailing is expensive to get into!)

Chris (01bluecls): Chris always provided quality write-ups, and I was always checking on a daily basis for something new to read. He never hesistated to return my calls (on his free time) and answer any questions I had as thoroughly as he could.

Todd (TH0001): I can say the same for Todd that I said for the others above, but you all know the story. He's been a great mentor for me and shares his wealth of information with all of us from time to time. Fortunately for him, I now live down the street. Lunch doesn't pick itself up from Burger King. :nana:

Every detailer that gets their butt out of bed @ 7:00am or earlier to detail a car for 8-16 hours a day gets my vote. I love to see so much dedication to perfecting a car. A few names that jump out to me right now are:

Other notables that do AMAZING jobs:

-Picus

-Scottwax

-G35stilez

-01bluecls

-tdekany

-Superior Shine

-Rickrack

I am positive there are PLENTY more I am forgetting.

Also for any information I could ever need, I know Accumulator will most likely have the answer. So he's my go-to guy for advice. Plus his from Ohio ;)

In absolutely no particular order:

Todd

Who can ignore his massive threads? More than that, I always found him very helpful through PM. Most of the conversations were about business matters and such rather than detailing questions.

Rydawg

You are definitely on top of your game. I particularly remember a Porsche a while back. It seemed to make an impression on me and I can't recall why.

Rickrack

The work on the ZR1 Corvette was amazing! That's just the most recent one in my memory but I was equally astounded by a great number of your other works.

Picus

Well, I learned quite a lot from you from the very beginning on DU. I always enjoyed the way your c&b's were structured and your photographs were always incredible.

It was great getting the chance to work with you on the Corvettes this past summer.

01BlueCLS

I think a lot of your work came before I was really active on Autopia and I probably missed quite a bit but I do remember an old Ferrari being polished. Incredible!

gmblack3a

I always look forward to your posts. :up

Joe

Excellent work from this man. Has performed some rather unusual detailing projects over the years.

Mike Phillips

Can anyone write better detailing articles? I think not. They are always extremely thorough and give the end user an excellent introduction into detailing.

Scottwax

Very honest and hard-working individual who continually takes time out of each and every day to help other detailing enthusiasts. It also helps that he has been in the detailing industry much longer than most, if not the most of any member on Autopia.

VXRMarc

A quick peak at Detailing World shows how good this guy really is. Recently, he posted a thread about his new 'Nurburgring' edition Vxr that was big enough to crash 50% of the computers of the people who read it.

Paul Dalton

A lot of people give this guy a bad rap that is undeserved. The reality is that Paul is one of the finest detailers in the world serving an ultra-exclusive clientele that most detailers dream of. Paul introduced detailing, as it exists here, to the world. We should thank Paul, not admonish him.

Polished Bliss

The work on that Gallardo was outstanding! :wow:

Cambridge Autogleam

Not a lot of people are familiar with this detailer, but his work is outstanding and could easily match just about any detailer in the world.

Anthony Orosco

Does there need to be much said here? Once again, this guy has been around for years. A recent thread proved how introspective he was, too.

Tdekany

Some awesome work comes out of Virginia.

Joshvette

You're a lucky fellow to get TWO GT-R's. You have got the skill to back it up, too.

Kaval

Doesn't get a lot of mention on these type of threads but if you haven't already, it's time to check out his threads. The work on the RS4 was incredible and the equal of anyone else on here.

David Fermani

The Black Corvette you did recently was, again, outstanding and the equal of anyone else on here (notice a pattern here?).

I deeply apologize if I missed anyone but I tried really, really hard not to. I'm really tired now.

I will agree with you on this guy.

I have seen his thread on DU and his photography skills and of course detailing skills are off the chart.

Like others have mentioned, it is really hard to say specifically who is "the most talented" without seeing their work in person. It also depends on what the definition of "most talented" is. Are we talking only about detailing skills or do we include the business end too. It really doesn't matter how good you can detail if you can't manage the business.

The two that come to mind have been in the business quite a while, do superior work and have been highly successful. The total package if you will. Joe of Superior Shine and Jim of Jimmy Buffitt's. I have had the pleasure of meeting them both in California a few years back and seeing them in action. They have well run businesses, not only making money but running it the right way, with insurance, paying taxes, etc. Plus Jim used to own comedy clubs and has literally hundreds of great stories.

I also have to mention Mike Phillips. He wields a rotary like no one I have seen before. Looks like it is on ball bearings. :)

To those who have mentioned me, thank-you. :)

With all the A listers on this site, it seems the reputation green squares in the bottom left corner of people's avatars doesn't get enough attention.

Too many people with just 1 where most people in this thread should be maxxed out.
