Most hydrophobic coating?

Gtechniq EXOv2 has 115degree water contact angle. I think it might be one of the most hydrophobic. thats why i decided to go with that on my car

EXO is my first coating that I have used but In my research EXO v2 is the most. I have noticed this week that even dust and dirt are not sticking to the paint like normal!

Gtechniq EXO V2 is the slickest and most hydrophobic that I have seen. It has the tightest beads and it sheds water faster then I have seen on coatings. To the get the optimum protection 2 coats is best. The 2nd coat will be a faster process due to a easier application due to the slickness. Out here in WA.st. when it rains my car is 99% dry due to the rain shooting off the finish and glass while driving.

Has anyone tried 22ple? I bought the 22ple trim and metal coating and have delayed using it :( .

I thought it was nice but it didn't stand out to me.

EXO for water beading and a deeper shine
Opti-Coat for durability
Detailer's for ease of application and gloss

Both detailer testimonials and my personal experience: GTechniq EXO & EXOv2. Some of the videos you can find show that water is scared on EXO. :rofl

What kind of durability could you expect out of EXO?

Yes you can get 18-24 months...

But EXO doesn't have the hardness / scratch resistance most people are looking for from a coating. So to me EXO is more of a coating topper than a ture AIO coating. That is why Gtech suggest using C1 before EXO. To get the hardness / scratch resistance.

So for me EXO is a great option once you have coated a car with something else first.

Are there certain coatings that you can't top off with EXO?

Strangely, I've read of some people having issues when they top C1 with Exo (yes, both products from GTechniq). There's a thread over at the Geek, if I remember correctly - might be worth digging out.

Not that I am aware of. Obviously I would say that C1 would be the first choice since it is in the same brand. But I would guess you could use EXO over CQ, OC and any others.

Another option in coating toppers is Sonax PNS (Polymer net shield).

The reason people are having issues is due to them not removing the left over residue. When applying C1 it should be done in small sections and wiped off in a quick manner since it will harden very fast. My first car I did was a black car where I used C1 and EXO, I made the mistake with C1 with over applying it on a panel and I thought it was wiped off all the way but you have to look at each section at like a 360 deg angle with proper lighting. Lets say I learned from my mistake and its a cake walk now.

I haven't used either product, so I will defer to those like you who have. But for reference of those who wanto to read through it, here's the thread I was talking about: Gtechniq EXO Review

Well I use it almost nearly everyday on clients cars and no issues since I know how to apply and remove it the correct/timely manner. If people are having high spots with C1 or EXO they are letting it cure too long before wiping it off.
