What lighting do you guys use for inspection. Obviously set up in a garage. My “work space” sucks. Only 1.5car and it’s FULL. Lol

Clear coat meter. ANYTHING good for a hundred or so?

Hit me

Scangrip. A little expensive, but worth every penny IMO. They have a Sunmatch model for around $100.00.
Isn`t the sunmatch a swirl finder light?

I think he is asking about clear coat readers like the deflesko for instance which I believe is the entry one for like $250 or so, unless I missed something.

Edit: nevermind he mentioned both
Allow me to return to my dark corner, haha

Lighting....
Yeah something in the garage that helps light it up GOOOOD to see maring and stuff.
No patience to use a flash light inch by inch. So get that out of heads lol.

Stupid question. Those bulbs. Can’t just put them in the sockets of the lights in the garage?
Those cordless griots look sweeet tho

You can, but they aren`t movable and are pretty unidirectional. What good does a bulb facing down do for me when I want it to point directly on the side of the car?

Wow. Thanks for that tidbit.

Rigid has a 1200lumen for $89 and it’s cordless. Rigid. Likely lifetime warranty too
Reading above the one poster said over 1000 lumens almost too bright anyway

This is my garage in total darkness. Pretty sweet and now I’m prepared for a power outage. Lol

Sorta-random thoughts follow:

- Even the best Inspection Lighting will require variations in viewing and illumination distance and angle
- The darker the environment is while inspecting the better
- Decent ETGs are [ricey, and genuinely good ones are truly expensive
- If aluminum panels are a consideration, be sure to get an ETG that`ll take readings on aluminum (well, duh..but people do forget that)
- ETGs that are not user-friendly *FOR YOU* are very, *very* frustrating no matter "how good" the rest of the world thinks they are
- So don`t by one from PhaseII ;) Drives me nuts...

Glad you got the lighting, Phatkid77!

Good deal man. My shop has a bunch of the husky lights hung up for my main lighting then I have one on a tripod that I move about with me.

I’m sure I’ll grab 1 more at some point...
Thing will be SUPER handy when power goes out. Or camping. Ect

Justins00SS- Will the Husky lights show holograms very well?

phatkid77- Rechargeable lights *are indeed* great during power outages...as long as they`re fully charged ;)
