More aggressive than Medallion

Hey all,



I've gotten good advise from this board before and hope my luck holds out. After reading here I finally got my PC (haven't used it yet). I also picked up some Medallion paint cleaner because it was easy to get.



I have searched through older threads and now my head is spinning.



I have some stripes in my clear coat from off roading, as well as some swirl marks. I have a feeling that Medallion won't be aggressive enough to get them out with a PC.



What would be a PC safe next aggressive polish? What could I expect if I used Zaino PC Fusion. I'm sorry that I have no pics, just haven't gotten the D-camera yet.



p.s. my fingernail doesn't catch on the stripes.

As long as you already have the Medallion Paint Cleaner give it a try first and if that didn't work step up to #80. #83 is the most aggressive product Meguiar's recommends for the PC but it can leave hazing on some paint. Best practice is to work your way up the aggressiveness scale as needed. I do get great results with #80.

I will try Medallion first, but was collecting info for future applications. Still wondering how good the Zaino PC Fusion is on swirls. Anyone tried yet?

I thought Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner was a chemical cleaner, not an abrasive cleaner? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you would be hard-pressed (literally) to take out any swirls with Medallion. Try #80, it is an absolutely great product.

Medallion was what I tried first when I bought my PC. I saw it on the CMA web site and decided to try it out. What a waste of money. It did nothing! It will not remove even the smallest swrils. Get a dedicated polish to remove the oxidation and swrils. Menzerna IP, #80, or some SSR to name a few.

MPPC contains diminishing abrasives.

In my experience, and I've used MPPC for many years, I'd place it somewhere close to #82. I've removed many swirls with this product. I use it with a PC and a polishing pad.



That said I also prefer #80 as my go to cleaner/polish.

Well I gave it a shot with the Medallion. It didn't really touch the swirl marks or clear coat stripes, but the rest of the paint looks great. I just tried it on the right front quarter and applied product 3 seperate times, but no luck.



I think I'll be picking up #83 tomorrow and hope that this little cool spell hangs around for a couple more days. Thanks to those that responded.
