Monroney Sticker removal...

How do ya get the window sticker off intact on a new car? Soak it with water and then peel? Doesn`t seem to like being peeled dry...

Well, does the glued part have any lettering? If not I would cut the glue part off and then you can get the sticky off how ever you want.

I just went through this with a paper sticker the dealer had on the inside of my windshield. Drove me nuts. What ended up working was a mesh bug scrubber with window cleaner. It took a fair amount of scrubbing and letting the liquid soak into the remaining paper fibers and adhesive residue. PITA.

WD-40 does a good job removing stickers, the only downside is the smell. I would tape off the area below the sticker to prevent any excess from running down into the door, spray the areas that have adhesive, let it soak for a minute, and then peel the sticker off and wipe the area dry with a paper towel. To get rid of the oily residue, use a window cleaner and microfiber.

I had another thought today -- I know it is too late since the problem has been solved, but wanted to throw this out there for anyone else who might find this thread through a forum search.

Anyway, it finally dawned on me that the OP wanted to preserve the sticker and not just remove it. In that case I would use a heat gun on the low setting, or a hair dryer to soften/melt the adhesive. That would keep the sticker completely intact and avoid any wrinkling or running of the ink.
