Money not a factor,,,,which carnauba?

I want to add another carnauba to my collection but I am torn between Souveran and #16. Are they both worth having or is one better than the other? I already have most other toppers in my arsenal, but I have never tried these 2 and I am always hearing great things about them. Anyone care to give the pros and cons of each on (who have tried them both)?

Thanks! :up

IT depends on the color of your car.......if its black or red go for the SOUVERN little or no durability #16 a little harder to work with with more durability either way Total investment for both is $80 and shipping

If money is not a factor I'd go for the $1500 Zymol wax.

I mean at the price it has got to be good, right ? :D

If you already have P21S/S100 neither one of these products ( #16 and Souveran) will give you a significant difference in appearance except #16 will last longer and Souveran is only very slightly optically deeper on a dark finish. If your vehicle(s) is a light color no detectable visual change.

I think all of these products would look great on yellow with very minimal visual difference between them. :xyxthumbs

When you think you've squeezed every bit of shine out of a dark car, try Souveran and you'll be amazed! It goes on like hot butter, and wipes off streak free with little effort.

Sure, it's not going to last long on daily drivers but you'll turn heads until it wears off.

Here's one more vote for trying them both. On some cars I can see a huge difference between most LSPs (such as P21S/Souveran/#16) while on others there's *very little* difference if any. But sometimes one just works out better than the others for a certain application so I like to have plenty of options on hand.

Besides, it's sorta fun to experiment with different LSPs.

Heh heh, if you don't mind the cost of the Souveran, the $12 or so for the #16 shouldn't be a big deal and it'll last for a few years. If nothing else, it'll make a great winter wax.

Oh, and if you do a little searching, you'll find that opinions vary on the high-end Zymol stuff. I don't mind spending on this hobby, but I'm still not convinced that their stuff is worth four figures, especially if it really needs to be applied with bare hands. I somtimes suspect there's an element of suspension of disbelief where super expensive waxes are concerned; people might convince themselves that their money was well spent.

Hey Bryan, I did a search on Souveran yesterday to see some of the results. And the Souveran is amazing on Black. Everyone seems to like it a lot, they said it doesn't last long, but what a difference it makes. And they also streesed the Black and Red color as being there true killer finish. If you need some Klasse AIO and Souveran, in the Autopia shop they have a Klasse/Souveran kit, Souveran, AIO, Mother's QD, Pinnacle QD, all of that for $89, I am very tempted! :nixweiss

I would not COMPARE P21S(S100)to SOUVERN BUT that is just my opinion.........................SOUVERN KILLS those 2 products

Thanks for the great advice everyone! I might just end up getting both, but it sounds like #16 might be a better product for me since I am more concerned about durability.

Depends on your car's color:

Dark Color: Souveran

Light Color: Either Pinnacle Paste Glaz or P21S/S100. I have both on my car and I can't tell a difference at all.

In my opinion, either P21S or S100 completely smokes either Megs #16 or #26 which I have plenty of experience with. It's also a helluva lot easier to apply and remove. Night and day in fact....

In fact strategically I am of the opinion that you should use S100 even if the durability is slightly less (is this really true?) just because the application is so easy. I don't mind waxing with this stuff because it is so easy to use. :)

I like #16 on light color cars. It gives my moms beige Jeep a very clear wet look. Souveran on dark cars is amazing but I think Nattys is just right behind it for only $15. Then I would put P21S right behind Nattys.

Since your car is yellow, for the price of Souveran, you should be able to get Paste Glaz, #16 and probably Natty's. I honestly don't think Souveran is going to give you an improvement over the other three. If you had a black car, however.....:)

Based on Scott's suggestion I got Paste Glaz for my wife's metallic gold Camry. It looks terrific...I bet it would be superb for a yellow car. It smells great also and goes on and off easy like S100. Great container as well.

I was going to try it also but what turned me off was the hand application. I did this with the Zymol Estate waxes for 3 years and it became messy and old hat.

A possibly more promising higher-end carnauba may be Swissol. Not many on Autopia have used it, its expensive but its loaded with carnauba and its applied with an applicator. Every year I like trying a new product line. Last year it was Menzerna. This year it was 1Z. Both great products. Maybe next year Swissol.

If money isn't much of a factor, I'd get both or at least the Souveran, since it is reputed to smell fantastic! :D

S100/P21S is great to use, but smell is literally lacking.... I don't know about the #16 though.

#16 smells like S100, except even more aplified "crayon" smelling.
