hey guys,

this is my buddy's car and he has been wanting to get it detailed since last year. i do not have any before pics, since the car is always washed and kept in a garage. moderate to heavy swirls, not to mention some hologram marks on the left quarter from some idiot at a body shop.

wash - megs GC

clay - megs

polish - IP with yellow CMA on 6

seal - WG sealant with gray CMA on 4

wheels - wash and then AIO

i did not use, FP or VM, with a white polishing pad

i have not had any problems with IP hazing. as stated, i use the PC on setting 6 with a yellow CMA ( lake county ?? ) pad and i always am rewarded with a glossy swirl free finish :xyxthumbs

NICE!!! i dont know about that mf over the lp thing. Anyhow looks great, i didnt know you could put the MT on a 17x9.5? what size are those tires anyway,.

i just did not want the plate number showing,

they are 275/40/17 's they stick like glue :shocked

go to mickeythompsontires.com

then go to et street radial

hey guys, my paint was really bad earlier. Tons of swirl marks that are gone now and it feels like glass. I'm really happy with the way the car turned out, unfortunately it wasn't sunny while we were taking the pics. A few hours later with the car in direct sunlight it looked as good as the day i bought it 4 years ago. Even the crappy SS hood paint (notorious through SLP for paint problems) appears to be as swirl free as it can get, lol.

Thanks Gav, you da man :waxing:

On another note, we discovered each and every little chip in my hood because some of the sealant kinda dries up in the little etchings of clearcoat, very tricky to remove. What's a good way to remove that stuff without ruining the finish.

6'][9', the et street radials in a 17 inch size have been available for almost a year now. Unfortunately they were on backorder up until this past April (when I got mine). At a prepped track, I cut consistent 1.70's and a couple 1.69's (vig3200 stall). I could not get them to spin at all that day. On the street it's a hit or miss. I haven't had a chance to test them out as much as I would have liked to but they don't spin nearly as much as Nitto DR's that were warmed up.

Did you have any problems with residue on the air intake on the hood?

I have some residue on mine, the texture of the grill is causing problems for me.

i noticed some when i picked the car up. I just used a microfiber towel to wipe it away but I'm sure some more may show up today. Just the way the grill is inset into the hood, can't really avoid it. Gonna have the hood grill painted gloss black and the SS nose grill replacing the stock, unpainted piece.

Nice work Gav!! The dueling Camaros look awesome in the garage!! I'll have to post some pics of my '02 Z28 and the wifes '01 parked in my garage. BTW, is that purple one yours?

hey nick,
