Monaro After Zymol Destiny

Yeah that was Santa Pod, my best time was 13.937 @ 103.41. I really need to learn how to launch it though, I only got a 2.337 60ft! I should really be mid-13's but it was my first time and was great fun nonetheless
Is it sad I knew that was Santapod by the paintwork on the armco? Good time though. I'm aiming for 13s there next years. I managed 13.89 in my Mk2 Astra GTE 16v (non turbo), but that thing was a bit of a beast. 60ft was 2.18s and that was FWD! Good luck getting mids 13s. :)

Oh - have you checked out MIGWeb? A little Vauxhall site I run. ;)

Thanks a lot for the nice comments, I believe the cap is in a different place because the fuel tank was relocated on the gto's to comply with USA safety laws.

 Bingo. That's exactly what it was; though I guess I don't understand why they didn't just chane ALL of the cars on that platform. Seems like since the US laws are more stringent than in Australia/UK about that sort of stuff, that they would have just cut out some costs and beef up the entire line.

The Monaro has been made for many years now - only recently was it bought to the US as the GTO. As there was no intention to export it when the car was designed, US laws were not considered. I think they are soon to discontinue this shape soon and replace it with a redesign.

True; this car may be older than since they started production of the GTO.

if that motor is the same / similar to a gto, there is a remote turbo sold in the states that makes serious HP. If you want to take a look , the site is STSTURBO.com. I have no affiliation w/ the site.
