I hate to burst your bubble but dealerships will not pay what you would want to get for cars. I have been offered $5 dollars a car. This was a Bimmer dealership. They had like 50 cars but I was NOT going to to do lesser work on a BMW. No way. I wouldnt do lesser work on any vehicle I do.

Just my $.02.

One dealership had the audacity to tell me they would pay me $7.00 per hour!! You're really going to have to put your foot down and don't settle for cheap pay rates if you decide to go the dealership route.

I agree with the others. Car dealers want you to work as cheaply as possible. They also want you to drop everything else and take care of them first.

i agree with scottwax we get calls from dealerships that need 10 cars done (of course all black) asap out of the blue. luckly this dealership will pay the money

The guys around here do lot washes for 2 dollars a car. They use the dealers water, bring their own pressure washer. Pressure wash with di water, chamois off. No soap, no dressing. They have to hustle.

Drive to their dealership, use your supplies and equipment for $7.00/hr? :D :lol :rofl :LOLOL

I wish I took a picture yesterday at the local Porsche/Hummer/Merc/BMW dealer..There were three guys, one pressure washing, about 6 inches from the paint and I'm not kidding, and two other guys with chamois. One of them had the longest cigarette hanging from his mouth as he worked around the cars. All three had nothing on that would indicate they were detailers in the slightest sense...in fact, if they were walking toward me on the street I would be a little nervous (that's stereotyping, I know..just trying to paint a picture).

And this was the most expensive dealer in a town where the avg. home price just hit over 900k!

I guess it's like you guys said that dealers don't like to pay so they get what they pay for..I just expected a little more from a higher end dealership.
