Mobile Guys: How do you rinse wheels after cleaning?

I was wondering what the best method to remove wheel cleaner is. I don't have a pressure washer/I can't afford one at this point and I don't have a hose hook-up, just my portable water containers. I was thinking about picking up one of those portable sprayers from Home Depot (I think they are for gardening), but I don't know if that water pressure will be enough.



Any ideas?

I've used waterless washes to remove wheel cleaner, I do it after I do the rest of the car so the brake dust doesn't marr the rest of the car. On many wheels, you don't actually need wheel cleaner- soap usually does the trick except on the worst of them.
 
so you use the waterless wash to rinse the wheel cleaner or use just waterless wash to clean the wheels? with the waterless wash, do you scrub the wheel and then jus towel off?



Would a portable garden-type sprayer aid in this process?
 
I clean the wheels and fenderwells using Optimum No Rinse and as needed, I use an extra bucket of water to rinse any dirt left behind out of the fenderwells. Usually the wheels come out perfectly clean with ONR and no extra rinse.

Wow, so how many towels does it take you to wipe the ONR off the wheels? I have seen some dirty wheels....

Normally it takes a couple terry cloth towels for all 4 wheels.
 
scott, what terry cloth towels are you using, are there different grades of terry?....I used some on glass and scratched the glass....and that was after the wash when I was just using a glass cleaner on them because the MF towels werent working so well....I wouldnt think of using them on wheels or paint, mainly just carpets because they have more bite than MF towels...
 
I just buy the terry cloth towels they sell in the automotive section at Target. I only use them for wheels and wiping down interiors.
 
I use the 2 gallon pump sprayer found at home depot. Works great on tires, wheels and wells. Plenty of pressure.

Go for it.

I must be really old because terry is all we had 20 years ago. When I was really picky I used diapers.
 
When I was mobile, I always used ONR in a spray bottle for wheels. If the brake dust is bad then I will use Meg's Wheel Brightener and then rinse with the ONR and then wipe with cheap Walmart microfibers.
 
To the OP...



You have an M3, an M5 and perhaps the 4 runner as a dedicated daily driver and you can't afford a pressure washer???
