who/what are you using...I need to start implementing this into my business...

also, if you dont mind, what rates/monthly fees are you paying...

as in 1.75/credit, 1.70/debit and 9.95/month, equipment fee? etc...

thanks, I am getting asked more and more, plus trying to pick up some more business people who need to use a credit card in order to write it off...

Not much information to offer, but have you looked into the iPhone app that allows you to accept CC's? That is if you have a iPod Touch or iPhone

no i phone, but I have the motorola Q and just found something on merchantanywhere.com about the pocket spectrum...

looks like you replace the battery cover with a credit card processor....unless I am seeing it wrong??? seems kinda cool as I ALWAYS have my phone!

It's VERY expensive. We've looked into it, and it's just not worth the cost.

We use this little diddy. Swiping gets the better rate and instant decline or approval. I would have to look for the rates but, we run approximately $6-8k per month at a cost of about $125.00 per month. And, you're right; if you're not excepting credit cards, you're losing business!

Huh?? it's not expensive at all. Not much more if any over conventional CC processing. You just need to contact the right merchant sevices firm. Most will give you the machine for free. The fee's arealmost identical to regular processing (or you can negotiate them to be) We used them for the towing company I owned. There was never any "Extra" expense over the base machine that sat in the office. FWIW we used Merchant Warehouse at the time. Great rates and good over the phone service. If you need more personal service just look up any local merchant and I'm sure they'd have zero issues setting you up.

Just remember when getting rate quotes.. Low qualified rates mean jack crap 95% of all you're customers will have non-qualified cards. So you need to have a real good non-qualified or mid rate. Also negotiate the set up fees. (most companies will waive this if asked) and the statement fee (usually between $7-$10/month) can be waived if you opt out of paper and have it all sent electronically. and remember EVERYTHING is negotiable when it comes to this. Don't hesitate to try and get better rates than what they quote. There are a million and one merchant service's operating out there it's extreamly cut throat and if one dosen't give you the rates you want the next guy will and they all know that.

All of this is true. Also, if you bank with Wells Fargo and process thru First Data - as we do - the depsoits are next day. I believe First Data is somehow related to Wells. I don't like WF but, the arrangement works well for us!

i have mentioned paypal to get an account over a month ago and the lady said "NO WAY!" must have had a bad experience with paypal or something...but I am looking for a a mobile unit to swipe cards and get funds deposited asap

I am liking "got wax" way of doing things...if I can find a cheaper alternative like using my cell online, then I will do so. but, the machine may be the way to go

Do the swipe machines have instant approval/decline? I doubt people will give you a bad card or whatever, but you never know.. I would imagine they do but I'm not sure how they would wirelessly.

Most will have instant accept/delcine features. It would like stepping back into the dark ages of CC machines if they didn't. they link up just like youe cell does.

Very cool :) I would imagine that would be extremely helpful for the more serious fulltime and parttime detailers here.

Merchant Services has a program for the BlackBerry and Iphone that will process cc payments instantly. I love not having to spend $500 on a one-off tool(cc slider).

If anyone goes through with using Merchant Services please tell them I referred you.

I keep seeing Costco offering deals for credit cards. check that out. One of my clients owns a business that sets up credit card payment. I'll check with him.

Cheers,
