Mixing Products on PC Pads

I do not have a large selection of PC Pads to start out with. I purchased the Deluxe kit from Autogeek. http://www.autogeek.net/bf200.html

Will removing the products with a terry cloth or other towel work enough so I can use the pads again with another product?

ie. SSR 2.5 with Yellow cutting pad then moving to the Orange light cutting pad with the 2.5. Then reworking the process with SSR1 and the Orange cutting pad.

I just wanted to ensure that 1) I am using the right process and 2) that this will not hurt anything? :newbie

You try to use the least aggressive combination first.

Are you are sure you need to start with SSR 2.5 and a heavy cut pad first.
You could try the SSR 2.5 with a lite cut pad first and see if that works, even if you have to make more than 1 pass. Then move onto SSR1 with a polishing pad.

You don't want to use a less aggressive product on a pad after you have have used a more aggressive one, or at least clean the pad well before doing so.
If you are talking about removing the product from the pads with a towel before moving on, I would suggest cleaning them atleast with water and try to get out your last product and give a quick spin dry before changing products

I keep a few polishing pads just for that reason.
