Mixing D300 & M105

I've been seeing numerous detailers using this as a cutting phase. What's the secret or info behind this?
 
I personally just use one or the other. Dusting even with M105 on the MF pads is minimal.

I haven't noticed anyone doing this as a normal regimen. I was working a panel with MF/D300 and it was being stubborn after 2 or 3 passes at mucho pressure. Added a couple of dots of 105 on the pad along with the D300 and it leveled the defects right out while maintaining D300's easy wipeoff and zero dust. Only had a couple of panels to go on a white truck so I just kept going with the same pad with D300. Worked fine.

Me neiter. Just stick with one or the other. I do wonder if it 105 would bump op the cut of D300. Heck, if so, why not add some OPCII while you're at it.
 
105 does in fact have more cut then the d300. I think mixing the two is not an issue and the oils in the 300 somewhat extend the working time and minimize the dust and makes it easier to wipe off.



OPC II does not play well with other polishes... I mixed a little 105 and OPC II just to see what would happen and it was a mess...
 
Ill occasionally have a primed pad of D300 and then use 105 from there. I do see that it does keep the dust at bay but like Rasky said, 105 dust with the MF pads is pretty minimal anyway.
 
I'll do a test panel with D300, and if I need a little more cut I'll do a drop of each and it seems to help. I tried it with a black camry and it work flawlessly and used that combo for the entire car, but I was doing a test panel on a older Camaro SS last night and it didn't seem to make a difference at all. Hard to say I guess.
 
I have been doing it since I recieved the first "Beta" products Meguiars sent me, on some cars it is a must(Porsche 996,Aston's,Nissan GTR's) works like a charm...............as long as you know how much to use in the mix.
 
I prime the MF pad with D300 and if that does not have enough cut, I start using 3 drops of M105 and 1 drop of D300 on the pad.
 
I've been mixing them too with great resutls. Basically as stated above. Start off with D300 and alot of the time it's just not getting results quickly enough I add in some 105 to the mix.

On the last GTR that I did, this method worked wonders. but it doesn't work on every car. I did a Dodge Viper yesterday and this method didn't even phase it, I had to go full on M105/surbuff
