Mixing AW with a QD

For those of you who mix AW with a QD like FC&S, what ratios work best for you. Would 1:1 or 3:1 QD:AW be to much of a ratio? I use alot of QD for wiping down door jambs engines, and other hard to reach areas and would like to add some protection to the QD so these areas are being protected after these wipedowns as well. What ratios work best for getting the most protection without harming the ease of use of a QD(no streaking etc.) thanks for the help, I am about to buy a gallon of each!

Been mixing 70% FC&S and 30% AW

I put 2 oz of AW in a 24 oz bottle of FC&S since I tend to QD a lot and have heard AW might mute flakes some if applying too often. The combo works great when wiping down wheels.

I put 1 oz. of AW in the marine version of FC&S (521) and it boosted the looks and beading significantly.

thanks for the replies.

suki22, no issues with a 1:1 ratio? I guess since AW can be use on dry paint too without streaking, that there shouldn't be right!

Also, I ment to ask this in my original post, has anyone tried mixing AW with a QD mixture of ONR? Would a ONR QD be compatible with a spray sealant like AW? I know ONR is not suppose to strip wax when used as a wash but I am not sure at the concentration needed for a QD if that would have an effect on the sealant mixed with it. This would save me money too since I already have ONR and use it both as a wash and mixed up as a QD. If I can just add AW to this QD then that saves me from having to order a seperate QD each time and I would get the protection I am after from a QD that has good cleaning power. Has anyone tried mixng AW with ONR as a QD with success?

thanks again

Interesting concept mixing AW with a QD. I might have to give it a shot. Maybe an AW/425 mixture. Lately, I've been trying to use up the gallon of CG Extreme Synthetic Detailer I have. (decen QD) I might mix a little AW with that too. Maybe even a 3 way combo of AW-425-Extreme Synthetic Detailer. So much to do........So little time. lol

Interesting mix, try it out and let us know how it works out. I think mixing AW with 425 may be a bit expensive, however AW with ONR as a QD might be a winner.

Correct...I have no problems with streaking......I find it works extremely well. Every 3rd wash I will use full strength AW...:2thumbs:

You could make it simple and just buy Mother's Reflections Spray Wax. It's the same price as AW and can be used as a quick detailer. Slickness is on par with AW, but has more depth than AW. I use Mother's RSW on top of 105. It's a better combo on my Metallic blue.

I think ONR at 6/8 oz/gal makes a great QD by itself - unsure if I'd bother to add AW in the mix, but rather reserve it for a quick wax/wipe AFTER the ONR QD ???

I take this approach.

Though, I have a bottle of DG 521 that is about 35% AW, the 521 bottle cracked and I poured it into an AW bottle. It works fine, then again, I use it just like I would AW. I dont actually clean anything with it.
