Mitsubishi EVO. Black. (46 pics)

that looks great!! Congrats man! What grit sand paper did you use to prep those scratches? I assumed you followed it up with a wool pad?? Ive been looking to purchase a wool pad where did you purchase yours from??

Well documented. A great example of wetsanding used to remove deep scratches.

Don't fear wetsanding and compounding: unless your car has 100k+ miles, your clearcoat is thicker than you think. You don't have to wetsand out the entire depth of the scratch--just enough to improve its appearance. You can safely follow up with a small amount of touchup paint applied with a toothpick afterward.

I believe it was 2500 grit paper. Yes I then followed up with wool then polish.

you can purchase the pads online or bodyshop, but I had one laying around in the garage somewhere.

are these regular steel wool pads that you can find at any home improvement store such as home depot or lowes??

ooh no no, i wasnt referring to steel wool to remove the sanding scratches. more in the lines of these...7.5 inch Hook & Loop DuroWool 100% Twisted Wool Cutting Pad these are the type of pads i used. sorry if you got the wrong idea. i wouldnt want to be the cause of a disaster.

Love it man.

What is the color name of your paint? Or the color code? It looks alot like my WRX's color (Midnight Black Pearl- 08V) black base coat with blue flake.

I'm not certain on the color code but there is also purple flake in it as well.

Its called Labrador, I thought mine was Tarmac but when I first looked at it under a light I saw the blueish/purple flake.

I also had the Midnight Black Pearl color from 03 and now have the Obsidian Black Pearl from an 05...I just can't stay away from black flakes lol.
