'Mit' the Black Lancer

Gen2

This car was detailed 6 months ago using OP and OCW, throughout the 6 months the owner maintained the car with a few products, namely AIO, Meguiar’s Gold Class wax and OCW. Some minor swirls and scratches found their way to the car and the paint work has lost some of the depth and shine as compare to the just polished look 6 months ago.

Since the defects are all pretty minor, I decide to try out the IP and PO85RD (80% / 20%) mix and see whether it can take out the defects. Beside this I also have a chance to try out my new toy, the cyclo machine.

This polish mixture seems to work out great, 95% of the defects are removed with 1 pass of the cyclo using a polishing pad. The cyclo seems to perform better than my DA machine but definitely more tiring to handle especially on the vertical panel.

After the polish, the paint work has regained the shine and depth, than I apply a layer of Prime Acrylic by hand. After half an hour of curing time, I follow with a layer of Acrylic Jett using a plush MF towel. When I am done with the whole car, both the owner and I are pretty impressed with the result. The owner commented that the car looks better as compare to when it was done 6 months ago, it looks darker, shinier and much better depth too.

2000firebird, I think this is not an Evo, just an standard Lancer.

Here in Spain the Evo´s are the only Lancer available.

Anyway, that paint is in pristine condition!!!

2000firebird - Sorry for the late reply, has been busy for the past few days. I am not too sure which gen is this Mit Lancer but this is the sport model sold locally and recently they just introduced a new facelift model, but I still prefer this model.

Manage to find the photo of this car which was detailed 6 months ago, any difference ?
