mircofiber that does not marr paint!

Hi guys,:sadwavey:



I am in need of help! I have a black car with very soft paint and everytime I go over with quickdetailer and mircofiber I see marring and I even tried with using my finger across the paint and it marrs. Now could you guys recommend me some mircofiber towels that does not marr? You can not really see it but it is their very fine ones.

+1 on the PHAT towel. I just got one last week and can't believe how soft it is. Makes my other plush microfibers feel like sandpaper. And no lint, none at all.
 
+1 on the Phatty's. Just got an order in an hour ago from Bob (Danase). He threw in some great extras. These are the thickest/plushest towels I've found. Bob's customer service is the best. Get the PHAT towels and you'll be impressed.
 
^ I was wondering the same...I know I am going place a big order with Bob anyhow? Any review for the Danase Phat towels?
 
Are using the QD to clean your car when it isn't very dirty, or after washing to add back some slickness? Personally, I don't QD soft black paint to clean, just to add slickness after washing.



I use Monster Fluffy's when washing cars with soft paint using Optimum No Rinse, seems to really help.

after washing to add back some slickness and sometimes what you said first. I have QEW but I think I need some very soft and plush MF. I use the vrooms orange because it was soft but maybe I need to break out the vrooom grays and vroom big towel yellows. Again, thanks everyone for the help as I am about to order some from BOB.:)

Is the car a repaint at all? I had a black Honda Civic that got broken into and I had to have the driver's door and rear quarter painted. The clear coat never cured properly and the paint was so soft a cotton ball blowing by it could scratch it.
 
Try not to qd the car! Wash it weekly and live with it being slightly dirty in between. Only worry about bird crap, sap, bugs blah blah blah. The name of the game is touch the car as least as possible.

I agree with the others who have suggested not doing QDs for general cleaning but only to remove specific paint destroying deposits (bird crap, bugs, sap, etc.).



As far as good soft MFs - every MF I've bought from PakShak has been absolutely first rate and non mar inducing. There are certainly other quality MFs out there but PakShak is the top of the line IMO (and very reasonably priced as well).

+1. My black car keeps getting fine scratches and I've realized it is due to my frequent use of detail spray. I cannot decide if I'd rather have it looking 95% every day of the week (by frequent use of the detail spray to clean it after each drive) or 100% on one day (wash day) and 85% on most of the others!

Yes the car was repainted! When I got the car it was full of orange peels and scratches. Wife told me..I hope it was worth it when she saw it with a worried look on her face :sadpace: I told her this is where my skill of paint correction would come to play and she said "OH $h!t!":tribe:



With 30+ hours into the car it looked like that as you see now.:) I have more pictures by the way. Some how it looks like a SS black paint and yes when I just swipe my fingers across the paint it would marr. I was hoping that when I ordered some of your towels it would def. help out a bit.:cry:

Thank you for the suggestion as I am about to call my mom there to pick some up and mail it to me. But I am going to place a big order with Danse to pick up some of my supplies and the free shipping does not hurt either!:hifive:

:LOLOL Sorry but had to LOL at this one. I'm not sure how des it compare, but Danase's Buff towels are really soft. I made a CD test with them and not a scratch whatsoever! I will order some PHAT's soon, though:spot

Thank you for the suggestion...:wall I like quick detailing because it a habitual thing with my other white and red car.
