Miracle Towels MF from CMA ???

Hello,

Just got my shipment today from CMA, very impressed with the speed of delivery. Ordered it on 5th Feb and it arrived in UK today, only taking 6 days, including a weekend!!!

Anyway, i ordered 2 of their Miracle MF Towels which seem/feel very nice. i want to wash them before using their first use. With all my other MF (Meguiars, etal), the little wash-label stated to wash no hotter the 60 degrees, but on the new Miracle Towels I got, there is no temperature listed. So...

...what temperature do you wash your Miracle Towels at. I'm guessing that 60 degrees will be okay, as all the others are, but don't wanna waste $20.

I don't want to wash them at 40 or degrees and that is too hot and they melt or something ;)

Thank you very much,

Hmmm.... Never thought about it that much. I know that I don't wash them in 'hot' mode on my washer. If you wash them in your machine on the 'cold' setting then I'm sure they will be fine. If you are too nervous then you can hand wash them in the sink. I doubt that you'll get the water hot enough to damage them if you are hand washing them. ;)

Guess I could just hand-wash them, but that seems a little too much like hard work :D

Was kinda hoping that i could just throw them in with all the others in the washing machine.

cheers for the advice,

Face

I do not have any CMA MF's but I do wash my PakShak and MicrofiberTech at the 70*F setting without any problem. I have also washed them at the COLD general setting which I believe is usually less than 70*F and they were just as clean and undamaged.:wavey

That was excellent turn-around time by CMA!! They have always been very good when shipping to me.:xyxthumbs

LOL that's cux they are only a couple states south of you. Try getting stuff from them out here on the west coast. It always takes a week.

I undertstand, but that is a UPS problem. I have also ordered stuff from the West Coast and it takes 6 days by UPS. Shipper to Phoenix terminal-to-Indiana terminal- to-Virgina terminal. One day at each terminal and transit time = 6 days (GROUND).:wavey

I wash my MF towels (including my CMA's) in cool to warm water. If the water's too hot to comfortably hold my hand under, I cool it down. It actually depends how dirty they are and/or what I used the towels for, in choosing the wash water temp. When cleaning towels I used for wax removal, I use warm water to help soften and release the wax residue from the MF. I think MF towels used soley for dusting or windows can be washed in cool water. My towels have remained soft and still work like new (actually better than new, they no longer lint). I'd guess, if MF towels are washed in very hot water, their fine fibers could possibly stick/melt together (espescially after a cool water rinse) and leave you with a towel that's not as soft as it once was. These "thicker" micro fibers will probably increase the chances for fine scratches/swirls on a cars finish.

Water feels scalding at ~45 degrees Celsius. If you're unsure of your wash machine temperature, stick ur hand into the water while it's on hot.. If you can't stand having your hand in there longer than a second, it's 45+ degrees.. Of course u can use a thermometer but this is a quicker, lazyman's way. :)

What i usually do with my MF's is to swish them around by hand in a bucket with detergent for a while... then throw it into the machine still soaked, without adding detergent to to the machine. This way the towels get a good hot soak to loosen wax in the bucket, a good washing in warm water that also washes out most of the detergent.. and a final rinse that clear out traces of detergent. Then line dry.

The general rule is to wash MF products in cold water with a liquid detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Dry on low temperature.

Perhaps I've just been lucky, but my MF's seem quite forgiving of wash temperature. I've washed all of them (MicrofiberTech, Viper, CMA/Miracle Towel, CMA Glass, YoSteve, BBT's, and others) in hot water without problem. My "hot" isn't TOO hot (between "low" and "hot" on the heater's dial), but using raymond_ho2002's method, it IS around 45C.

I also accidently washed my Neatitems, Pakshak and CMA towels on hot (probably about 120 deg) and they came out without a problem. I also accidently dryed some of my Neatitems towels on the high/cotton setting..that was bad. I almost think I melted some of the ends of the fibers:eek: Anyway stick to the recommended air drying or low/gentle.
