Minimum time between SG coats

If one follows the directions on the bottle you use approximately 2 oz for the entire vehicle, thats what, about .00000034 of a mil or so-I'm kidding-but I am certain we can all agree it is awful-awful thin right?? to take the position that this 'layer' of material would take more than 8 seconds to fully cure is an interesting one.

I second that we adopt the 'whatever works for you' mindset.

Drying time is not curing time. Acrylic polymers require time to cure the chemical bonds for maximum quality and durability of the coat. No amount of extra drying or wishing makes that happen sooner.

Bottom line is, something is there, and it DOES need to cure. 8 seconds certainly does not cut it.

RJJ, why does this surprise you so much, or anyone for that matter? If zaino, which is newer technology than klasse, required a 24 hour (at least) curing time prior to zfx (an additive if I may say), then why is it so hard to believe that SG requires a cure time as well (of at least 24 hrs)???

What is so unbelievable about common knowledge?? A polymer sealant requiring a cure time. I don't understand why ppl need to suspend their belief of reality in order to see this. Come on.

But you know what (to everyone), do WHATEVER you want. Just don't come back on these boards b!@#$ing that Klsse SG is garbage. I don't wanna hear it. And I'm sure the rest of us, who are not cheap 2.99 turtle wax detailers, do not want to hear it as well.

Just remember, you HAVE been warned.

Again I say that on three separate occasions, in varying weather conditions (temp/humidity) I have used Klasse on two new cars, both silver, using multiple layers, with about a half hour wait between re-apps of SG and the results have been perfect-no hazing, no swirl marks, and no difficulties in removing any of the SG. As for durability, on the Passat, our daily, there was still evidence of the product doing its thing after about 10 months or so.

Two distinct factions claim success with two radically different procedures, let us leave it at this; the Teutonic acrylic god apparently works in mysterious ways.

BUT WAIT - both our VW's were made in the Fatherland, could it be..................................

Yup. Whatever works. I don't think anyone who has been using Klasse for a while uses 2 oz. per vehicle. I think I can probably get 4 coats of SG per oz on an average sized sedan. I used a bit more AIO, due to its cleaning ability, but probably still only 1/2 oz. per vehicle.
