MINI ME - Swirls a plenty!! 1969 Mini Cooper!

This is 1969 Aston Mini Cooper. The first thing I though when I saw it for the first time was, "They're sure are a lot of swirls in that toaster!"



How could a tiny car have so many swirls???

These swirls were deep! I decided to colorsand the the worst areas with 2000 grit sand paper.



The first thing you will notice her is that the color sanding "slurry" is red. That means that I am working on a single stage finish and NOT a two stage being color topped with a clear coat.

Notice here the nice even uniform appearance to this freshly color sanded fender.

It was awkward polishing on such a little vehicle but I managed.

Here you can see how much brighter the finish gets after a good compounding with #85.

I chased the #85 / wool combo with #85 and yellow foam pad.

Its a small car but it took more work than I expected. Polishing below my knee caps didn't help either -LOL!



She now wears her shiny red coat with pride!

Haha, between this and your explanation of why its dangerous to use a PC on speed 1 I think your very funny.



Video mockumentary or not this is awesome work on such a cool car!
