MINI Detailed - 56K NO!

The blacked out tail lights are from MossMini.com - Parts & Accessories for Your BMW Mini Cooper . It is a film that is applied over the stock lights. It is a PITA to install, but looks pretty cool :dance

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps Austin has a temporal time distortion field present. Looks great but black looks like too much of a PITA on a MINI. Can we send you some of the snow we just had here?

I think I talked too soon! It is 32 degrees now here with ice on the ground. Texas people are so scared of the word ice, it is ridiculous!! :shocked

People driving 30 MPH down the highway...... :wall

W-I-D-E photographs are bothersome. When they are imbedded in posts, any text is formatted as wide as the photo, forcing the reader to scroll left and right. Since most people have their monitors set at 1024 x 768, it would make sense to reformat photos to 700 pixels wide.

99% of the photographs posted aren't very good and do not warrant being larger.

Are you suggesting that those who know how to take pictures should get a little ambition and change the percentages by contributing to the board more often?

My mistake...I missed a few images in photoshop. I thought I resized all of them but apparently not.

In regards to the "No 56K threads", can we please stop them? Although out of all of those threads this was probably most worthy of that title. It is still not neccessary. I doubt many people have 56K anyway, probably 5% of autopians.

Not only is that curtious to the 56k users that are on here, but also if i had 56k, you would make me feel like im not good enough. Rude post, and how about complimenting on the work.

Btw great job, looks FANTASTIC!

Bad *** mini. I hope to one day build one up to spec.

Is that your garage? I saw a Carrera S, Cayenne and what looks to be a 5 series. If those are you should post some pics of them. :D

Perhaps... :grinno:

They belong to family members. I may do a full detail on Carrera S tommorow. Someone said the word "ice" in Austin, so they decided to shut the whole city down....:wall I think I may test out my new ONR tommorow in the garage and then polish out the Carrera.

The garage cotains:

06 Cayenne Turbo

05 Carrera S

06 BMW 335i

05 MINI Cooper S

02 4runner

The Carrera S and the Cayenne (especially the cayenne) NEED a good rub down. I will of course post the pics when I get around to whipping them back in shape :chuckle:

Sorry to hear about the ice, we go through the same thing every year here. People forget to drive in the snow and ice and crawl like turtles. Don't want to hijack your thread, hope we get to see your work soon on the rest of the fleet. You'll have me wanting the spring weather even sooner. :)

I'm so envious of those of you that have garages....being able to put down the polish to come back later right where you left off must be sweet! Oneday....oneday.

The transformation is awesome! You've got some skills, makes me curious as how to the mini got so marred in the first place.

^^ I used NXT All Metyl Polish on the Exhausts

Yea! Garages are great :grinno: .

As for how it go marred, well it was a combination of things. The first being that MINIs Jet Black paint is INCREDIBLY soft, so soft that sometimes even removing wax with a clean microfiber can create imperfections.

Also, the dealership decided to wash the car for me even though I told them not to... :argue

lovely work mate. good job!

Question: How do you make such a fine line of test spot v. orig. surface. It's such a straight line.
