Ming process

10 years ago, I didn't know much about car detailing. I had my car "ming". They told me that the process was smoothing the paint out on the car and warrantied me for 3 years. Within 3 yrs, all I have to do was washing the car and dry it. The paint always shine and water will sleek aways (no water spot). It costed me $275. I had it done but I sold my car 1 yr after that. The first year, it worked really goo.

Does anyone know exactly what they did. They told me that no chemical or wax involve.

Here is the link to one of the place that does the "ming" process.

Is it true what they claimed?

I had it done in Costa Mesa, Orange County. I passed by the place couple months ago and it closed.

The server at my last reply and it's too long to retype. So my advice is: stay away, far far away. Excessive heat is bad for the paint and that's essentially what "ming" does, overheats the paint in an attempt to "reflow" it, which is not possible with today's high-solid paints.

WOW, I remember that stuff in the early 80s. I heard if you ever got into an accident the whole car would just crack.

They ruined more paint jobs then they claim to have made shine . Thats why most if not all have closed .

So they harden the paint and remove pits and valleys...why would that never need to be waxed again? You'd still have to protect the hardened paint from oxidation and dirt.
