Might as well pack it in with competition like this

If you're decent you'll never need a craigslist ad if you just do it on the side. You may run out of friends and family, but you'll never run out of friends of friends who saw their car or co workers of family who saw their car when you were finished. Then you'll have people who see their vehicles.

I'm honestly afraid to put up a craigslist ad because I know the people they attract. Think about it, do you go to craigslist when you're looking for a quality product that you're willing to pay for? Or do you go there when you want a bargain and want to negotiate a price with someone. That's what people expect on craigslist and that's they kind of people you'll get.

That's true, I first did a car for a co-worker's sister, then her aunt saw the car and asked me to do her car, and that turned into her husband's car. I can see why it would be frustrating to think that someone like me is trying to undercut the professional work I see happening on this forum. CL is sketchy business altogether I agree, I just don't want the well to run dry either.

Cardsmore thananything. But if you're just doinng it onthe side ithhink you'd be better off investing in some business cars more than anything. And fwiw I don't think people get terribly bent out of shape just because they're being undercut. It's more of a frustrationn thing becausepeople expect quality work at craigslist prices. If you can afford to give someone a full correction exterior detail and a full interior with shaammpoo and everything for $100 even in your free time then you're not doing sommething right. That's a solid 20+ hhours of work if you're doing it the right way... which most of the craigslist detailers aren't...
