Microfibers cause scratching?

??? Just making a statement that those towels can scratch also.

Sorry if I was offensively :nono I sometimes come across more critically than I intend :o

I was just stressing that you need to test things and/or decide on your technique so they do their scratching on a CD/etc. and not the hood of your car.

The edges of any and all MFs make me nervous, even the seemingly soft satiny edged ones. Whatever keeps them from unraveling is, *IMO* likely to mar paint.

You were not offensive. I do the CD test. For some reason I have a batch of cobra indigo's and arctic white edgeless that the edges hardened. Or maybe unraveled a little to expose a hard jagged edge. Maybe it was burn cut wrong at the factory. I called autogeek and sent them the towels. They agreed that was not normal. I wash with warm(not hot) and dry on delicate(low). Don't know what happened. All I know is I heard a loud squeek on the hood when removing some wax. Low and behold.

loudog- Ah, OK, now I understand.

Glad AutoGeek stood behind those towels, and yeah, that *is* weird

Gee, I treat mine a lot less gently than you do (*hot* water, medium heat in the dryer) and I've never had that happen. Guess we just have to *always* do the "fold the edges in" thing, easier said than done in (actual) practice.

Due to VOC regulations, paint is now being changed from lead based to water based. The paint is not as hard as it has been in the past.

Aside from the technical inaccuracies, here...

Someone forgot to tell VAG, I guess. Even more interesting that this is on a MB forum, where they introduced ceramiclear in the past couple of years.
