I am trying to decide what type of microfiber towel to choose to clean and dry my car. A waffle-weave or an Ultra Terry towel. Any suggestions?

I have used terry towels from Zymol, Meguiars and even high end Fieldcrest, they all left scratches on my car with even the lightest touch. I was fed up after spending hundreds on towels and still getting scratches. I recently found a thread here on MF towels, specifically towels from www.pakshak.com. I have the 16x16 towels for wax removel and windows and the larger 24x24 for drying the car. I prefer the terry MF over the waffle weave MF. I can't rave enough about these towels! I gave my Fieldcrest towels to the wife for shower duty and the Zymol and Meguiars towels have been relegated to interior, engine and wheel duty.

MF seems so expensive. Does anybody know of a web site or discussion that outlines prices for microfiber towels?

Try www.pakshak.com. They also periodically auction their towels on Ebay here, http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=miamor_corazon. Ranney is great to do business with! I currently have 20 16x16 towels for wax removal and windows and 2 large 24x24 towels for drying and I only spent a fraction of what I spent for my 100% cotton paint scratchers oooopppps I mean towels.

Just my 2 cents but, I think you can't go wrong with Ranney!

hitherto you need to check out PakShak MF towels. You can get the best quality 16x16 towels with no tags to remove for about $2 each plus shipping (shipping is not too cheap from Hawaii) but you will not be disappointed.

I personally would order a waffle weave for drying the car (PakShak does not carry these). I have the Big Blue Towel from CMA which is expensive but worth every penny to me. However, I believe several will tell you that the waffle weave from JT International is as good and a better deal.

I paid $7 for a 24" x 36" waffle weave from JT International and $2 a piece for the 16x16 terry's. The waffle weave is much more absorbent for drying, why the terry's are much better for polishing and removing product.

My recommendation would be a large waffle weave and 20 16x16 terry's. That's what I have, and you never have to worry about running out. I started out with 5 and it was a pain. Always washing towels and running out of clean ones.
