Microfiber Towel Wash help

What's the best way to wash my MF towels? And with what detergent? What is going to get me the best results? Keep in mind, I will also be washing my regular clothes in the same washer machine. What do you do to keep your clothes from getting soiled? I was thinking maybe giving those MF towels a good wash first, then washing something like socks and underwear, so if any residue remains at least it won't get on something too important. Any advice is appreciated

Couple of things to do. One pre-soak your towels in APC. I use the PB APC and in a 5 gallon bucket its a 1/4 cup. This helps to breakup the embed dirt and oils. Then wash your MF towels in one load, do not mix them with cotton towels of anything else. I use whatever detergent the wife gets at the store. I run mine in HOT water and if I haven't pre-soaked them, I add some APC in the start of the load.

I have towels that are 8 plus years old that are still in great shape.
 
That's a great tip from Beemerboy to immediately pre soak the microfiber towels and it helps to keep the stains from setting in.

Also, washing with DP Microfiber Cleaner is what I use to clean and freshen the towels. Dry on low or no heat and no fabric softener and they are ready to use!

Great tip!

I use a special detergent for the towels. Seems to work reasonably well. Some satins don't come out. I should try the soaking them with PB APC trick!
 
I keep it simple. Charlie's Soap removes wax and polish residues. I wash on heavy cycle, warm water, double rinse, double spin, and dry on medium heat.
 
After soaking overnight in a bucket with some cleaner, I use a liquid detergent & wash in warm water, double rinse with the first one using ~1/3 cup vinegar, then hang to air dry.
 
Beemer, I finally got my hands on that APC. The stuff is awesome! I cannot wait to try it when I shampoo some carpets, I owe you one!
 
I've used charlie's soap and liked it a lot but once I ran out I tried micro restore and whatever detergent we had. If I used normal detergent I was always sure to use vinegar in the first rinse.

On heavy soiled towels I presoak in a bucket
 
I'm not having a problem with washing my MF towels. I run them through once with Tide Liquid...no fabric softener and then a cycle using DI MF wash and a vinegar rinse. What I want to know is how everyone is doing in the dryer department. My wife uses fabric softener sheets in the dryer and I am of the opinion that even though removed they leave behind a film that gets on my MF towels. I have recently started wipping the dryer drum down with 50/50 mix of alcohol and water to remove the film if there is any. A poster on a different forum thought there would be no transfer of fabric softener film if there was not a sheet in the dryer with the MF? Frankly I don't know.
What do you think?

I have been wiping the drum as well. I am not sure it does anything.
 
I've never worried about the possibility of residue from a dryer sheet. The way I see it is when I dont use a sheet I can tell that I didnt use one. It never feels like there was some residue that was transfered on my cloths
 
Simply wet the towel with clean water and wring as dry as possible.
Never use any type of FABRIC SOFTENER!!
These are lint free cloths. It is best to wash microfiber cloths with non-linting items. It is machine washable, resists wrinkles and is water repellent. You can wash it with any soap or detergent. We recommend mild detergents, or a Microfiber restorer. They can be dried naturally or put in any dryer. But make sure to dry it at temperatures below 235 degrees F
 
I've just been soaking them in APC then washing them. After that if I have any socks or underwear that needs to be washed I do it right after. This way if there is any residue left it gets put on something that people really don't see anyway;)
