Micro-Restore Detergent

I use a product called oil eater for the first wash. Good stuff!! Then use MR second wash. Works for me.

well... this discussion begs the question, are all specialized MF detergents the same? Many companies seem to offer their own version.

I might just pick up some Charlie's eventually, since it seems you can also use that to run a cleaning cycle on the washer?

I haven't noticed a significant difference with Micro Restore vs. Regular "Free" detergent. This is cleaning towels that saw all sorts of polishes/waxes/dirt.

Agreed. I was a fan of the Micro Restore and found that Tide Free, a splash of Simple Green and vinegar in the rinse makes my towels softer and nicer than the Micro Restore. I stopped buying those specialized cleaners.

I went through 4 gallons of Charlie's soap and for MF cleaning purposes I like the Tide Free method better. Not that I don't like Charlie's soap! I like their APC though.

I wash on a *hot* setting. I then re-wash them all with no soap in cold water on a mini load to be doubley sure every last bit of soap is removed! So on the final rinse, the water is perfectly clear.

how much viniger should i use i the final rinse?? thanks

I use White Distilled Vinegar in a downy ball, filled all the way to the top. G35Stilez posted a while back that using more Vinegar left his towels nice and soft. I've yet to try more vinegar, but that single downy ball (probably about 3/4 a cup) seems to work just fine.

You really need to wash, evaluate, and then rewash some MF towels. While my Charlie's Soap Laundry Detergent does a great job of cleaning, there are those rare times I need to do a second wash.

ill agree here. there are too many methods and oppinions on MF care, most of us use what ever method we see best.

I have had to rewash my cobra buffing MF's from time to time, especially when I do two cars in a day ( yes, yes, childsplay for some of you but i work full time and go to college, gimmi a break)

I really like MicroRestore. It cleans well and does a better job than other brand and normal detergents I have tried. Pinnacle MicroRejuvenator is also good.

CMA has the best price at around $22 per gallon.
