MIcro Chips, Pits in front bumper and hood

Was out doing a full detail yesterday on my car (Dark Blue/Black Metallic) and noticed on the entire front bumper and front of hood, hundreds (if not more) little tiny micro chips/pits in the paint. Most of them apear as little white dots the size of a pit point. I'm sure these are from commuting on the Los Angeles freeways.

My Questions:

Are these normal, has anybody else experianced this? The car has only 20k miles on it from me. Is the paint to thin or something?

What is the treatment for this? How do I fix these or hide them?

Any thoughts apreciated!

Yep, my car is roughly 6 months old (15k already) and the front of the car has a bunch of little pits from tiny rocks, road debri, etc..

It's bound to happen, there isn't much to do except buy a nasty looking car bra :) I don't know if you want to try and touch up the entire area, it may turn into a spotted/discolored area

I'm in the same situation with my black BMW which has about 30K miles on it. They are too numerous and too small to touch-up......literally thousands of tiny marks on under the front grill, front part of the hood and front part of the fenders.

I plan to wait a few more years, repaint the entire front area & have a clear-bra installed. Not sure if there is any other solution than a re-paint. I'm open to other suggestions.

I agree that there are far too many to do any touch ups or antyhing like that. I was thinking more along the lines of using some sort of polish or compound or whatever that be made for filling these with at least a darker color pigment then the white wax look. how about that turtlewax color back stuff, or a black marker?? I don't know..

I have a black Miata which has a similar ailment, though most noticable behind the front wheels. The problem with the TW "cheater" wax (since everyone uses that when they sell the car, as did the previous owner of mine) is that it's a carnuba. If it was a poly, then you could top it with a better poly. But nope.

Also...bump.
