Uncoated polished rims are the biggest pain in the world. I will do everything I can to never own them again. There really isn't much you can put on them, other than polish, without oxidizing them. :hairpull

Glad I could help Jason, as soon as you mentioned the thread I remembered it. As for the kit up here Canadian Tire carried it last year and it was around $25. Individually they sell each of the bottles for $12, not too much of a profit margin hmm? I have seen them at Autozone in the Buffalo area so I'd ask your local store if they can get it for you. The fellow member I mentioned is driving an Escape and boy is the brake dust bad on the front wheels. This along with wheel sealant has made it so much easier to get the brake dust off. Good luck with obtaining some it is an excellent product.

I installed ceramic pads on my truck a year ago vary little dust, better braking power, new cars coming out now have ceramic pads.

If brake dust stays on the rim for a while and gets caked on well it's a ***** to get off

maybe it's because i live in san francisco with all the hills but, i'm sorry, the brake dust accumulation on the wheels of my '02 911 turbo is out of control. just driving around for a few hours results in a visible soot haze on the wheel. left alone for a few days and i have black/grey front wheels and grey back wheels. short of taking the entire wheel off the car, you can't remove all the nasty dust and what's left behind i'm convinced is damaging my wheels. I refuse to believe that the formula for complete, safe, brake dust removal has yet to be found.

does anyone have any tips on how i might keep the wheels in their just cleaned states a little longer than 15 minutes?
