MF's with a Bounce sheet! Help!

Hi guys, my roomates put my Mf's in the dryer with a Bounce sheet! They are really soft, but have lost that static pull and grabby feeling. How do I bring them back to life? I know that there is a way to do so, but I do not know how. Thanks for the help!

i used to dry without the bounce sheet and my towels were getting dry and hard so now i throw one in and use low heat and they are real soft and no static .. i know its been said not to use one but to each his own and i like them soft so do what you want ..we share different experiences here and thats how we learn new things here .. just because someone says you cant do something doesnt mean anything ... go out and try the towels on your car and tell us how it worked .. ron
 
I've never used a bounce sheet or fabric softner...but I would try to use boiling hot

water to bring them back to life.
 
wash them again in hot water and they should be fine...you don't even need soap if they are clean:yes:
 
Thanks all for the replies! I will save some of the ultra soft ones and bring them back to life with hot water, in the wash. Bigron, how do you feel the towels work now that they are soft and plush? Do they absorb as much water as before or streak the paint? Thanks for the tip.
 
they work fine . also they are easier to fold and that makes them easier to use because you have to rotate the towels to get a clean side when removing products . i like them better with the bounce so try it out and see what you think.. i think outside the box sometimes and try different product and pad combos that you wont see here all the time but i detail for money and whatever produces the best quality in the least amount of time is a good thing .. im not so much a hobbyist anymore so im looking for great easy stuff to use . good luck
 
what about placing the= MF's in a pot of boiling water for 10 mnts this is suppose to rejuvenate MF's, has anyone tried it?
 
I read a post on here about using simple green and so yestersday a went and tried it, I used about 1/2 3/4 cup in a med sized load with hot water. Worked great!

I feel that ANY towel, MF or cotton, loses absorbency when you use any type of fabric softener. Especially if you use softeners containing ditmac softeners (check the MSDS of the softener you use for ditmac, imidazoline, or amido amine content), which act as a waterproofing agent, and they tend to "cook" onto fibers, thus dulling the colors over time.
 
Wash them again and add vinegar and some Dawn to the cycle. Those two cleaners will disinegrate the fabric softner.

Make sure you tumble dry on low heat afterwards as the way the sheets work are like asbestos. Its kind of a pseudo-softner, IMO. The little fibers latch themselves onto the towel making it feel soft, when its just really the sheet. Ever notice how transparent the sheet looks when you take it out. These excess fibers shoudl get trapped in the lint trap as they dont last long.
 
For those of you advocating fabric softeners or dryer sheets...

These products DO NOT soften fabrics, that is actually impossible. What they do is add silicone to the fibers which make them "feel" softer to you but since your car has no nerve endings why bother?

Adding silicone to the fibers reduces absorbency in natural fibers and restricts adsorbency in man made fibers. Silicone also reduces a fabric's ability to remove excess wax and polish and it's ability to buff. In addition the silicone can be transferred to the vehicle's surface, especially on hot surfaces.

Simply don't ever use softeners of any form.

This is why I wash the towels myself. Never let anyone not privy to detailing knowledge touch the MF's!!!!
