MF wash mitt

hey guys,



i have been using a lambs wool mitt to wash my car. i got a micro fiber wash mitt for my b-day as a gift.



it is very soft, do any of you use one ??



any experiences with one ?? good or bad or both ??
 
I don't use them anymore, as they have a tendency to hold on to grit very tightly, and not let it go in the wash bucket. I still use em for interior cleaning, but for paint I stick with lambswool.
 
I have two and use them on my weekend car. It never gets very dirty and I can see any grit/darkness on the mitt.

I use the wool on the daily driver.
 
well, my car is one in the same, it sits outside but does not get driven in cruddy weather.



i guess i'll try it out and see.

Love my mitt, If you give the car a good high pressure rinse and follow with two bucket method, the chances of scratching is unlikely.

Never liked lambswool buff pads or mitt's, there too harsh
 
I used my Excel MF mitt for the first time to remove nxt paste wax from my motorcycle and it worked really well
 
is the lambswool supposed to get all mushy when i wash? cause i bought one from this site and it seems liked it was just way to soaked with soap and water. guess this is a good thing but it looked like the base of the glove was beginning to become exposed cause it was so wet
 
When my car is not very dirty I use the MF wash mitt with when I QEW my car in the garage in cold weather. I prefer my lambswool mitts for normal washing.

but some are saying stick with the lambswool and others say that it is too harsh,



i thought the lambswool wash mitt was quite soft and glided over the surface. i may be wrong,



the only reason i am asking is because the car is getting it's 1st detail of the season hopefully this weekend. i want to make sure that i preserve the finish as long as i can :xyxthumbs
 
I have used MF mitts for 2 years now. IMHO they work just fine. I use them on both daily driven cars. I also have a lambs wool and a bunch of cotton chenille mitts. They all work equally as well in my opinion.



The two bucket method (1 soap, 1 rinse) goes a long way towards removing the dirt and grit. I usually change the rinse water 1-3 times depending on how dirty the car is. Also, contrary to what some have indicated I think MF mitts are easier to get dirt out compared to my lambs wool. The MF pile is very plush but it is also short, which makes it easy to agitate with your hand in the rinse water to remove any dirt, while dirt seems to get trapped in the longer lambs wool. All the mitts suck when it comes to getting bug parts out though. YMMV.



Do you know if the orange mitt you got came from Target? I just got one from there a couple of weeks ago. It seems like a nice mitt and holds lots of water and soap, just be careful not to allow the elastic band to come in contact with your finish.

Same opinion here. If you buy quality mitts, keep them clean, and use a good shampoo, the *mitts* won't cause any marring. The marring comes from the dirt getting pressed into the paint when you wash.



I've used the three types of mitts on the soft lacquer of my XJS with no problems. Well, no problems if I wash correctly ;)

tensors22288 - That's the way you want them to be. Just hold them in such a way that the cuff doesn't touch the paint. Try filling the mitt with wash solution, holding the cuff shut, and gently whisking the mitt across the panel while the shampoo soaks out of it.
